After OW001's maiden-voyage into outer space, Outworld now takes us to the underworld courtesy of label head Klangkuenstler's 'Balthazar' EP, which marries raw peaktime-power with claustrophobic-come-ecstatic atmospheres, served over the course of four tracks.
The devil's dancing on the title-track: as serrated off-hits shatter on tough kicks, a wicked saw-riff begins to drill through the drums as if summoned from Hades. In contrast, the bass-driven body and pulsating sinus-tone of 'Zorn Amons' grind like teeth as they build in tension. A moment of illusive release comes with 'Das Schattenreich', on which the reverberating, fast-paced percussion
runs for escape, hunted fiercely by a meaty trance-lead. On 'Jenseits', though, Klangkuenstler pulls us back into purgatory, showcasing a dramatic end to a carefully crafted and devilishly fun EP of rough club bangers.

Canada's Atroxx is set to release massive forthcoming collaboration with fellow Montreal based producer Mike Laz on his own label Starskream on August 23rd. 

The collaboration between Atroxx and the up-and-coming techno prodigy will be the seventh stellar release on Starskream. Named after Slipknot’s DJ Starscream, the label has a similar ethos to the heavy metal juggernauts with a focus on menacing, bass-driven, unapologetic techno.

The four track EP also features two mixes from Dutch producer and internationally recognised name in techno, Industrialyzer. The first is a heavy techno weapon that packs a punch at the same time as inviting the listener to become entirely immersed in the kick driven stomper. Industrialyzer’s Warehouse mix cranks things up even further with enough industrial-strength percussion and conjuring synths to dominate even the most formidable of dancefloors.

'Beyond Me' opens with eerie warehouse glitches, cavernous drums that ring out into a huge open space while unsettling pads and textures grab your attention, 'Hard to Find' is a rugged, relentless cut with perfectly forward moving rhythm with detailed edgy synths that keep you in suspense. New label Unconfined announce launch with a formidable four-part compilation series 

Kicking off with an 8 track VA001 [Quantum Entanglement] in September, each VA will feature an international cast of groundbreaking artists with a shared passion for electronic music production. 

Handing over full creative control to their artists, Unconfined are setting out on an exploration of infinite sonic possibilities across the electronic spectrum. Born in Glasgow, but spreading its roots across the globe - from Turin to Taiwan - the label strays fearlessly from the mainstream. 

Founder and label head, Charl Fouche, believes the label’s criteria enables them to release a diverse selection of tracks: “There are so many varieties of techno. At the end of the day it is noises being morphed to sound a certain way. It all comes down to the individual listener and what sounds their ears choose to hear”. 

“A lot of thought and effort is put into making sure all the artists and tracks are somewhat complementing each other. Curating a label has been a goal of mine for years. Now I am finally able to create a movement which possesses infinite potential. Ultimately we want to help provide our artists - from the UK to South East Asia - with the ability to be heard worldwide. “

A collaborative effort, Various Artists 001 [Quantum Entanglement] takes a global standpoint, staking out a sound that draws on as many genres as it does international influences. OGUZ, talented Dutch producer, has been producing for a couple of years now. Quite a feat since he’s only 21 years old. Having played in numerous European cities, OGUZ is building a profile faster than any Dutch producer of his age.
He first got acquainted with techno by going to the raves in Amsterdam. Immediately inspired to combine his vision on techno with sounds he picked up from those raves, he started producing. Self-taught and self-discovering, he played his first show 6 months later.

OGUZ sound can be categorized as huge. Sonic sentiment. One that takes you a step further than average and gets you thinking. Distorted and industrial. His four lies on adventure and learning. Productions needs to be epiphanous and eye opening. OGUZ takes you on a grim and dark adventure.
