A selection of Acid and House tunes from 1988 to 1990 mixed by me. Back to when the raves began and the music started getting exciting. I did this mix and first uploaded it online in 2011, but as of from December 2013 iv re-mixed it and its now improved. Iv got this mix on a couple of sites and the original version i did of this has been quite popular on YouTube. Even tho the original version has been one of my most popular mixes, (apart from my breakdance mix) there was a couple of areas of sloppy mixing, but most significantly after listening to it on a particular occasion i realised just how bad the audio quality was and i wasnt totally happy with it so i thought id try and rectify that, so iv totally re-mixed it (almost identically with only a few minimal changes) and its also now extended with two extra tunes on the end.     This mix is now a better experience ! 

As i say the original copy was bad quality and even when i then put this re-mixed version on YouTube it still had a slight few distorted areas on a couple of tunes, but this is the nice clean copy of it with no issues.
(Altho in hindsight i have put to much sparkle on it in my music producing software, but iv learnt from that since to be abit more minimal with it)

093 - Carl Cox -  F.A.C.T - Disc 1 (1995)

Back in 1990 when I had first started working in Liverpool, everyone was raving about this club called Quadrant Park (The Quad). One of my colleagues at this time gave me a tape with all the tunes that were played there, I have no idea who made the tape and have unfortunately long since lost it!. One listen and I was hooked and I had to visit the club. Put simply,The Quad was the best club that I ever went to and believe you me I have been to many! I am still into many forms of house music, but you could not beat the reaction that these tracks used to get.
What I have tried to do with this mix, is recreate that tape I was given back in 1990 and add a couple of my own favourites that were also played at The Quad. Enjoy!!!

This was apparently the best selling live Fantazia mixtape in 1993 so I was told....just info and certainly not a big up..... and it featured my good friend Food Junkie on the other side as far as I remember. Absolutely love the recording with all the crowd noise, it really captures the atmosphere.... Amazing memories! ...Sounds of the Joker, sounds of the Scallywag :)........reach for the sky!!!

In October 1990 Coventry made dance music history...

That first Saturday night/Sunday morning experience was put on at the former Granada Bingo Hall in Lower Ford Street,Coventry,England.

The bingo hall had now been transformed into a 4 floored nightclub, and was also voted the best nightclub in the country in 1991 by fellow ravers through DJ Magazine. With a chill out space including a cinema on the ground floor, a second floor room enough to hold 500 people, and the main room on the top floor holding over a 1000 people including the balcony.

Every Friday and Saturday night would be filled by clubber's and raver's from all over Britain..

Act's such as :The Prodigy, K Klass, SL2, Altern 8, Moby, Shades of Rhythm and LFO all passed through it's door's with live p.a. set's.

Top dj's such as, The great grooverider,carl cox,sasha,frankie bones,Micky finn,top buzz etc,all graced the decks on a reguar basis,and two hour set's were the norm.

February 94,the club was closed.

At the time of closing more than one million people had passed through its doors and it had a standing membership of 74,000. .
