"Martenot asked me to curate a music selection that reflected some interests we have in common, including computer music of a certain type. The idea was to pay homage to some Italian pioneers including Pietro Grossi and Enore Zaffiri, the founder of the electronic music school Martenot and I attend. “For this mixtape I tried to blend some of my avant-garde inspirations like Pita and Holy Similaun with some of my Italian hardcore / screamo favourite bands. There is a common thread between the chosen tracks, a certain inner and noisy howl coming out of them.
Given the not-instinctive nature of studio mixes, to me it makes more sense to make something else than putting one track after the other on Ableton Live, I wanted to use my mouse and ears a bit more, so the tracks were processed as if they were instruments in a track, repitched and heavily coloured.” Lefka, July 2023
