Nearly Rots Ink consists of the London based artists Ben Skinner and Joe Lyric (aka the long time serving rave host  Lyrical Groover MC). In their past lives they were best known as the UK Hardcore pairing of ‘Up 2 Summit’.

Joe has been following dance music culture since 1988 and has been actively involved in the rave scene since the summer of 1992. Ben became active a number of years later originally under the DJ guise of Ben Outbreak. 

Bored of the regimentally structured and limited sounds of UK Hardcore Joe began to distance himself from the scene whilst all the while falling deeper in to his wide and varied love of electronic dance music. It was during this period of disillusion that Joe began taking to the decks more at home. 

After becoming frustrated by the politics from within the UK Hardcore scene Ben too began drifting further away from Hardcore and found himself appreciating music all the more at a lower bpm range. This is when Ben began to fall in love with House music.
