Kerri LeBon - Impulse Mix 01

I decided to resurrect my previous DJ alias (DJ Imani)and start playing more Nu Disco, Deep House, Rare Soul etc. when I play out.  I created Nebakaneza over 4 years ago, and he isn't going anywhere, but I want to expand my sound when I spin live now. I have been obsessed with Nu Disco for a while, but could never really play it as Nebakaneza. Instead of pulling a dick head move like Skream and just abandoning Dubstep, I decided to just split my sounds into two aliases, so hopefully you will start to see DJ Imani more often.  Nebakaneza is too type-casted to branch out to more soulful music. My live sets as Nebakaneza will still be Dubstep/Drumstep, DnB, Glitch and a little Trap etc, but I really want to be a multi-genre DJ, which I think is obvious from this whole Expansion Project mix series.

Blade Runner

"Early in the 21st Century, THE TYRELL CORPORATION advanced robot evolution into the NEXUS phase - a being virtually identical to a human - known as a Replicant. The NEXUS 6 Replicants were superior in strength and agility, and at least equal in intelligence, to the genetic engineers who created them. Replicants were used Off-World as slave labor, in the hazardous exploration and colonization of other planets. After a bloody mutiny by a NEXUS 6 combat team in an Off-World colony, Replicants were declared illegal on earth - under penalty of death. Special police squads - BLADE RUNNER UNITS - had orders to shoot to kill, upon detection, any trespassing Replicant. This was not called execution. It was called retirement."

Danny Delorean - Road Trip

Bio:
Nebakaneza, aka Danny Delorean is your favorite DJ's favorite DJ, and a true encyclopedia of many genres of music. 

When he was old enough to get a job, he started working at various record stores, but all his earnings went right back into buying music. He majored in radio broadcasting, soon becoming the music director for his college radio station, and won an award for broadcaster of the year. He then created his first DJ alias: DJ Imani, and started spinning Trip Hop and House 4 nights a week at various bars and clubs. Around this time he started working his day job at a big name radio station doing audio editing for Ryan Seacrest and voice over work for ads. He eventually landed his own late night electronica show, acting as both music director and host. He also held a small internship at Om Records, as well as the Surefire talent agency, and eventually started his own wedding DJ business to get some of that sweet sweet normie money.

After getting sick of hearing Top 40 all the time, and falling in love with Dubstep, he created the Nebakaneza alias and started a weekly event in San Francisco with his business partner Johnny 5, called Ritual, which lasted for 6+ years and at one point was the largest reoccurring Dubstep event on the West Coast. They expanded into Los Angeles and other clubs in San Francisco. Later, he became a music director for another commercial radio station, Live 105, for their late night Dubstep program, Wobble Wednesday. He was on the cover of the SF Bay Guardian newspaper and won their annual Goldie award. This alias expanded from just Dubstep and now includes Midtempo Bass, and Electro/Breaks/Detroit Techno, among other face smashing beats.

He created a third alias: Danny Delorean, to spin Synthwave, Nu Disco, and other fun bouncy music, and soon after became the co-host of Turbo Drive, which is the longest running, and largest monthly Synthwave event in the world. He would later become a manager at DNA Lounge nightclub, acting as the Talent Buyer, and marketing manager, then the General Manager and Bar Manager at Temple Nightclub in SF.
