I've been working hard and keeping things quiet this past 6 months but I've taken a small step back from Djing (still playing live events) to finally put my time into production.

Last week I got my first track signed which will be forthcoming on a Classic Trance based label, more info to follow on that, but I'm also sharing a remix that I just finished on Sasha's timeless classic track - Xpander

The date was the 30th of February 3030 and the sun was setting on Geneva. The air was thick, filled with ash from an impact that has radically modified the scenery. At the surface of the Rhône, jellyfish were adjusting their perceptronic implants in order to map out this sudden modification of their environment that had become the largest crater in the history of the Jonction area. The trail of debris ran from the junction of the Rhône and Arve rivers right up to the legendary derelict factory called formerly called l’Usine, which used to be a centre for alternative arts, culture and live music.
Terrified by the deafening crash of the astral body into the millennia-old building, humanoids and robots alike flocked to the smoking hole that seemed to lead straight to purgatory. Among the curious crowd, Burd Bibendaze, Salt Lake City’s infamous astral body impactology in fresh water environments specialist. Burd had been in town for a thousand years by now, still studying the hybrids created by the impact of the last asteroid to hit Geneva’s lake region in the early 21st century.
As Burd was still trying to fathom his luck at witnessing a second impact in such a short space of time, he saw something move in the gaping hole beneath him. A relatively small, half slug-like, half humanoid being was floating it’s way up out of the hole. The creature had a mask in the shape the like of which Burd had only seen in history books, as if there really was a life-form that fit the 21st century human’s idea of what an extra-terrestrial.
As the automated security forces rushed to the unkown creature, it waved them aside with a deft movement, stopping them mid-air with a power beyond Burd or any of the onlooker’s comprehension. The creature stopped and looked straight through Burd’s eyes and into his soul. “Hello Burd”, came a voice in his head, “My name’s Brian”. It’s Belgium vs. Malta for the second split EP on Gated, with Datawave’s tough take on electro kicking off the A side and Sound Synthesis’s cosmic machine music on the B.

Both producers are currently making waves with numerous releases on labels like Fundamental and Nebulae, with their complementary yet distinct styles of electro brought together for the first time.

Perhaps the most obviously peaktime track, Datawave’s Pulsar sounds immense, with a wriggling bassline and cracking drums that’ll cut through on a system.

Breach Out takes things darker and deeper, with gnarly and hypnotic synths leading you on some tripped out journey into a dystopic future.

Sound Synthesis, meanwhile, lightens the mood with Lost in Orbit, but retains that sense of moving into the future. Except this time it’s somewhere beyond the stars.

That said, EP-closer MH System is the kind of classic 4am stomper every DJ needs, with a low-slung bassline and spaced-out samples guaranteed to keep the floor moving.
