Vincent Neumann, DJ and label owner from Leipzig, has built a loyal underground following with his energetic, enduring sets and legendary closing performances. A resident at Distillery since 2012, he also runs the label Unitas Multiplex. By day, he works as a psychotherapist; by night, he captivates audiences with enthusiastic, precise sets. For him, authenticity comes before fame – and anyone who experiences one of his ten-hour closing sets will immediately understand why.

INTERVIEW
You play regularly at Berghain. What does the club mean to you personally and how does this club influence your approach to a DJ set?

Berghain was and is the ultimate club and the ultimate experience for me (on many levels). I've heard so much great music, spent so many days and met so many people in and through the club that my life would be completely different without it. Since I was allowed to play there, I've been even more passionate about techno and the sets there have also taught me to play even better through long sets and to get a different feel for sounds and timing for tracks at certain moments. I try to transfer all of this to other clubs.

In addition to your DJ career, as some people probably already know, you also work as a psychotherapist. Do you see parallels between music and therapy? Are there elements from your work that are reflected in your sets or your approach to music?

People in the club sometimes tell me that they can hear that I'm a full-time psychotherapist, I don't have that on my radar myself, but I think that perhaps it gives me a different approach to emotions and allowing them in. And sure, music can be super therapeutic, I think every person reading this knows that. At the same time, therapy is also sometimes musical, it needs a sense of rhythm (saying the right words at the right time, or sometimes nothing at all) and you have to pay attention to each other (like instruments that stay in time) otherwise it becomes unpleasant (or sounds like shit).

You launched your own label, Unitas Multiplex. What was your motivation behind it, and what musical vision are you pursuing with the label?

I wanted to set up Unitas Multiplex as a label to give other musicians the chance to release their music (often for the first time) on vinyl. The focus should be on timeless club music. That and the fact that my name is followed by my own label in brackets, which is pretty cool.

Q: Where are you from, and what inspired you to make techno?
A: I'm based in Warsaw, PL. My inspiration, it depends on my mood and that what is happening around me.

Q: What are happening in the future… releases and other stuff?
A: Upcoming Releases at Sonntag Morgen, Circular Limited and Cenotaph Rec.

Q: Why techno?
A: At this point I can say this is my way of life and best way to express myself.

Beste Hira is an adventurous, strong willed and motivated person now based in Amsterdam with Istanbul as hometown. These aspects have brought her to the position she stands as an artist today. Music has been a lifelong priority. She started at the Mersin Fine Arts High School Music Department where she studied classical piano and cello. She continued her professional music career at Ondokuz Mayıs University where she has successfully graduated from the Department of Music. Her career as a dj/producer started soon after and is why she decided to move to Amsterdam.  

She favors the ethnic, groovy and dark side of techno that drives you through the night. Her broad education of music can be heard in her music productions where she meticulously experiments withs sounds to produce her signature sound. In her performances she has a determined mindset to create a complete sensory experience.

"In definition, thrill is an experience that produces a sudden feeling of excitement and pleasure.

Paul Zawadzki, or better known as Concept Of Thrill is a producer from Warsaw, Poland. Earlier before the project Concept Of Thrill Paul produced and played under the name called Weld. 

Changes in life is a normal situation, Paul thought it was time to change and came up with a new project called Concept Of Thrill. A fresh new project founded in January 2014. This project is focused on a deeper and darker side of techno, you will find his emotions in the music what Paul produce. And so it makes it more interesting to listen to his releases. 

Paul has got several releases on several labels, like Distorted Perception , Circular Limited , Trau-ma and Sonntag Morgen which got mentioned on the Deep Space Helsinki Radio. 

Next to producing and doing Live PA's sets, is Paul also the co-founder of the famous podcast series "Lost In Ether".
