Binary Thoughts

An electronic music duo from Macedonia, currently based in Skopje. The name Binary Thoughts may speak for itself, but there is a much deeper meaning embedded within.

The ancestral way of thinking has always been 'binary'. To understand nature and all its phenomena, we made a world of oppositions (day/night, sun/moon, male/female). Where the law of "all or nothing” rules, there is no in-between. But the reality is indeed always more complex and more interconnected than what our 'perception' of the world suggests.

This perception beyond this “all or nothing” connected Ana Bogatinovska and Jovana Gjorgievska. At first strangers to each other, they met at a music festival in their native country; And after a long discussion about electronic music, they've decided to do a project that will connect their somewhat different but similar taste in electronic music.

Their melancholic, delicate and hypnotic sounds use 'binary thinking' as a motor to press on to a third term or a higher category that represents a transcending reconciliation or unity: where thesis and antithesis are always harnessed to yield a synthesis. Where seemingly opposite or contrary forces may actually be complementary: Yin and Yang.

Currently, they are exploring the vast horizons of deep and hypnotic soundscapes intending to create their unique blend of creativity to start producing their music.

collective from Augsburg and the event series “SURGE“ in Munich. He also launched his own
event series “PUBLIC ECSTASY“ in Innsbruck in 2023, showcasing his musical vision.

Inspired by a deep love for the music of the 90s, he has embarked on a musical journey that
fuses various genres into a cohesive soundscape. His music represents layered techno
infused with Breakbeat, IDM-inspired sounds, Ambiente and Electro, while trying to capture
the innovative essence of 90s electronic music. The German artist's ever-evolving sonic
signature shifts genres and perspectives, always celebrating the rich diversity of electronic

With „Once In A Blue Moon“, French duo Cléry & Catartsis introduce their collaborative project Inherent Stasis on Schimmer Records’ digital sublabel Liquid One. As their debut, this five-track EP sets the tone for a sound that is both detailed and reduced, hypnotic and driving.
The release floats between trippy drones, bleepy minimalism and stripped-back rhythmic structures. Each track is carefully shaped — spacious in its arrangement, yet grounded in groove and functionality. Binary Thoughts is electronic music duo from Kumanovo, Macedonia. At first strangers to each other Jovana and Ana met at a music festival in their native country and after a long discussion about electronic music, they've decided to make a project that will connect their slightly different but similar taste in electronic music. They have performed at various nightclubs throughout Macedonia and have gained an international exposure with their podcasts for Erfunden, Error Sessions, Lett Records, R.P.W.C.S. and many more. They became part of Tenebrous Music Label in late 2016. In summer 2017 they had their first gigs abroad and they became part of Dev9t Festival in Belgrade, Serbia and Visions of Beyond in Prishtina, Kosovo.

React Podcast 016 - Binary Thoughts

Ntogn is a techno project developed by Hypnus Records' founder Michel (b. 1988, Sweden) since early 2013. It aims to weave together modern sound design techniques with a fascination for dragons, shamanism and the occult. This has resulted in what Resident Advisor's William Lynch describes as "fierce, artistic techno that sounds like little else out there" and a discography ranging from hard repetitive deep techno to dark, throbbing ambient excursions. As a DJ-performer, meticulous care is given to harmony and progression in order to create a comprehensive and captivating journey through melodic ambience to harsher hypnotic techno currents. Over the last few years, this has earned Ntogn the recognition not only as a respected label manager and authentic producer, but also as an inspiring DJ appearing in several prominent clubs around the world such as Khidi (Tbilisi) and Elysia (Basel). His most recent 12-inch record Sathurnus: I (2017) caught a notable 4/5 review on Resident Advisor and scattered projects over the previous years include collaborations with fellow Hypnus adepts Luigi Tozzi and Feral, remix duty on Retina.IT's vinyl EP Octagon and a VA appearance alongside the Swedish techno phenomenon Shxcxchcxsh.
