Rounding off the year on Redstone Press, Debba comes correct with a varied 4 tracker laden with hefty subs and lock tight percussion. 

The A-side starts out with fast-paced staccato kicks and the oscillating, warped bassline of ‘Called Up’. These elements soon develop into a twisted, energetic romp, showing Debba’s innate knack for upfront, low-end percussive work. Continuing with this theme ‘Direction’ adds reverb drenched vocals to the mix and ups the bass weight, with gritty, looping subs throughout. These two will put that soundsystem you’re dreaming of playing on to the test! 

The B-side is more restrained and meditative but retains the heavy subs, opening with the downtempo and introspective chords of ‘I Said’. The drop in pace gives Debba’s signature beatwork and melodic flourishes space to breathe with the dreamy synths of ‘Subtle’ building up, then breaking down into a low-slung UK Techno roller.

Benjamin Hudson returns to Acroplane, following his last projects with us as Ebola (Wrong Music) and one half of Baconhead, with ‘Slime’… and he’s brought a load of his talented mates to collaborate with him.

Brain Rays is part of queer collective, DOOMSCROLL, and Devon art & party crew, Bizarre Rituals. He is also a co-founder of Wrong Music alongside DJ Scotch Egg and Matt Lambert (Roger Species).

Known for his hectic, high pressure output with Quiet, and film soundtrack work (as part of Unknown Horrors) collaborating with director Dean Puckett (The Severed Sun, The Sermon, Satan's Bite) and Rhys Chapman (Wonderkid). As a DJ he has performed all over the world, including Transmediale Festival (Berlin), Today’s Art (Den Haag) and Boomtown Fair, as well as two live sessions at Radio 1's legendary Maida Vale Studios. As a producer he has garnered support from the likes of Mary Anne Hobbs, ETCH, Huw Stephens, Drumskull, Annie Mac, and Nikki Nair.

It is with apprehension and unease that HEDPLACE SYNTHETICS, INC. are advising stockists that the planned public release of product SYN002 (prototype name ‘Snowbound’) has been recalled and re-engineered to minimise unforeseen side effects.

The first batch of SYN002 (hereafter referred to as the ‘Original Mix of Snowbound’) was compounded by in-house chemist HEDCHEF and samples provided to a small but significant number of clinical subjects. Subjects reported sonic emissions variously described as “deep and pacey tech house thump”, “dissonant bleeps shifting over a thick, persistent bassline” and “an irresistible club weapon”. Shortly after providing their statements however, 48 of 52 clinical subjects began exhibiting signs of erratic and unpredictable behaviour, appearing highly stimulated and prone to fits of sudden movement.

Due to these troubling reports, the Original Mix of Snowbound was re-examined by co-chemist TOM PLACE in order to obtain a more stable product. This second batch (hereafter referred to as the ‘Tom Place Remix of Snowbound’) promises greater constancy and lower volatility, but these properties have been achieved by even further increasing low-frequency emission, thus stockists are duly warned to treat the Tom Place Remix of Snowbound with the same caution as all preceding HEDPLACE SYNTHETICS, INC. products.

Both the Tom Place Remix of Snowbound and the Original Mix of Snowbound (provided for research purposes only) are purchasable from HEDPLACE SYNTHETICS, INC. representatives on 9th January 2026.

Taking First is a follow up to 2018’s “Fold Together”, continuing from a flurry of releases on ARTS, Glasstalk and Wellstreet Records, Greenleaf goes into deeper exploration of his unique stylistic template.

The A side boasts a substantial 1-2 punch; The darting melody and breathing ambience of ‘Taking First’ transition suddenly into the shrieking kettle and pressurised sub of ‘Rumble’. The overleaf takes us further into the club with the soothing rave-tape nods of ‘NOFM’, before we’re submerged in midway underwater theatre of ‘Stam’.

The excellent Cando remix of ‘Rumble’ appends all copies ordered through the labels Bandcamp.
