NYC’s Sha Ru heads to Tapefeed’s Inveterate Records for a new club-focused EP which channels their experiences of overcoming the fear while the band is exploring singing in English. The intensity of this fear is showcased on ‘Moi’ as it continues to build in tension over the course of the track whilst the vocal comes in and out of focus. 

Comprised of Ma Sha and Rù, the pair live and work together between NYC and Berlin. Masha is the founder behind the much-loved label and party series Kindergarten Records who we’ve featured quite regularly on the site. Between them they’ve released music via Infinite Machine, Pressure Dome, Sorry Records, Shubzin and Progressive Future.

ABBY 3000, the Figueres-born producer based in Barcelona, continues his unstoppable streak of releases with "fastlife," 🏎️💨 a new single for the NPS series that showcases a glimpse of his eclectic sonic blend and his distinctive skill: sampling. With a trajectory marked by his time in the duo Sumluv, ABBY 3000 has absorbed a wide range of musical genres, from ghetto tech to breakbeat, passing through Detroit techno and house.

"fastlife" harnesses the influences of Detroit techno and breakbeat embedded in an accelerated ghettotech, creating a sense of urgency and bounce as the stabs, bassline, and glitched bars unfold 💿.

We are pleased to unveil one track of the upcoming release of Lisbon-based @bleiddd on @discos_extendes.

BLEID is Mariana Freitas, DJ and producer, and one of the faces of the new generation of Portuguese club music. Together with Bruno Gonçalves and Inês Coutinho, they share part of the management and artistic direction of the cultural association “Planeta Manas”, the community radio “Rádio Quântica” and the queer rave “mina”.

'Subliminal' is very clearly a club record. A series of tracks in the 150/160 BPM range, anchored in a 4/4 rhythm, full throttle. Containing very few melodic elements, this is an EP anchored in the strength of rhythm. On the one hand, there is a certain familiarity with Chicago Footwork, mainly in the prevalence of certain rhythmic elements such as snare drums and the use of sliced vocal samples. The track “Get Down” is driven by voice samples and their multiple slices, combined with intricate rhythmic patterns. Footwork madness in full force.

El set que prepare es una sesión de improvisación en formato Live en el cual los primeros 45 min son de material original, a excepción de algunos samples que fueron utilizados en algunas transiciones. Grabado en mi estudio casero, con Ableton Live, rekordbox, un teclado midi, un push, y un Roland sp404. El recorrido de montañas que imaginé es de carácter místico y de contemplación hacia el exterior e interior.
