The Falling Trance has released their single, “Growing Up is Getting Old,” today via iTunes.  This is a song that will leave a long lasting impression in your mind.  It’s bands like The Falling Trance that keep my faith alive for the up and coming music scene.  This song is riddled with originality from start to finish and will keep you wanting so much more after track time turns to zero.  

The soft fusion of back and forth vocals mix so well, each voice is unique in sound and do not drown out each other.  One thing that will catch you completely off guard is the few instances when hardcore vocals come screaming from the back.  It gives the song a whole new aspect and really raises the intensity, even though it plays small role.  The Falling Trance really knows how to write outstanding instrumental music.  From start to finish it’s one endless beautiful melody that you never wish would end.  

Overall, this is one flawless release by The Falling Trance.  It did its job perfectly because now I can’t wait for and upcoming release.  The Falling Trance have huge potential and this single will no doubt help catapult them to larger things in the future.

Straight out of the gate, Dear You wastes no time and brings their high energy out for the world to see.  This is the perfect song to release as a single before the album comes out, because from start to finish it is the raw energy that motivates and drives you to crave more

The dual vocals will make your knees weak almost instantly.  On one side you have a soft sweet sounding voice that you will really relate to; on the other hand you have a crisp yet slightly raspy voice that will steal your heart away.  This duality is one of the best I have heard in such a long time.

Instrumentally I fell in love. There is a subtle yet powerful presence when it comes to the guitar melody.  It’s the perfect balance between the lead and rhythm guitar that lay out a strong chord progression and smooth intricate melody.  What I have really desired lately is the ability to hear the bass line, most bands cover them up and that’s just wrong and immoral.  The bass line may be subtly heard but it’s strong within this song, and that helps tie the entire essence of the song together perfectly.

Overall, this song served its exact purpose.  It caught my full attention and will not let me go.  This song is a constantly set on repeat whenever it comes on my iPod.  I cannot wait for the full album to be released.  I can assure you, it will be a glorious future album.

Singles Review :: Dear You - "The Way That You Left Me" Feat. AJ Perdomo of The Dangerous Summer

When I first listened to the new song by Oaklynn titled “Everytime” I did not know what to think of it, seeing how it’s not my typical genre of music that I listen to on a regular basis.  So I decided to sit down, put on my noise cancelling headphones, and put this song on repeat so I could completely indulge into this new single. 

Immediately the first thing that really captures my attention is the beauty of the vocals.  They are soft and so sincere, it’s as if he is sitting next to you on the couch singing to you, it will just instantly cause you to fall in love.  Lyrically, it may not be too in depth but they are definitely going to be stuck in head for days to come.  By the second or third listen I guarantee you will be singing along as if you were the one who wrote it.  

The next part that really stood out is the very catchy and provocative beat throughout the duration of the song.  From start to finish your foot will be tapping to the beat, there is no escaping it.   What I like about the beat is that it is not obnoxious, unlike everything we hear on the radio these days.  It’s original and keeps the same main beat consistent through the song, while integrating a gradual rise and decline to affect your mood when listening.  The tempo is very upbeat from the start, then once the bridge of the song comes around it slows down to draw you in with full attention and to toy with your emotions a bit.  Once it speeds back up, you will go through a mental rejuvenation where it leaves you amped and wanting more.  

Overall, this is a fantastic song and has become a favorite of mine.  I would be heavily surprised if you do not hear this on the radio in the near future, along with hearing more of the Oaklynn name. Today we are very much honored to bring to you a special exclusive stream of The Falling Trance’s newest sing titled “Letting Go” from their upcoming spring release of Carry On. “Letting Go” is a very excellent and ear catching song from start to finish. It is everything you can possibly want in a song. The very first thing to stand out is the musical purity emanating from Chance King’s and Zach Piggs’s vocal cords, they have the voices that you immediately become addicted to. Without even joking, their voices make my very own knees weak. To be honest, I can listen to them sing every day for a full year and never get tired of it.

Every time that I listen to the song, I feel the hairs on the back of my neck start to tingle as the soft guitar melody appears in the opening seconds of the song. The guitar rhythms begin to change as they introduce a very mellowed guitar ‘chugging,’ only for a few seconds though, then the two join together to bring you to the reoccurring melody you hear throughout the duration of the song. It’s almost as if the instrumentals are playfully teasing you, getting a rise out of your emotions with every pluck of the strings.

At the very moment you start to feel comfortable while listening to this song, the band introduces a curveball as they bring in a very heavy and deep screaming verse from their bassist, Kyle Cross. Many bands out there over compensate with the yelling aspect in their songs, but The Falling Trance keep Kyle tamed so that his verse doesn’t take over the entire song. Let me tell you though, at the moment Kyle makes an appearance, a whole new aspect of the song is unveiled. It turns into a song that is no longer just a simple sing-a-long, now you can get up, move your feet, and really become active while getting lost in the immense energy.

The Falling Trance handcrafted a very impressive some that truly displays how much they have grown since they first began recording music together. And if this is just a sneak peak as to what’s coming up with their spring release, then I’m already sitting at the edge of my seat waiting impatiently!
