Providing his debut for Ransom Note Records offshoot Insult To Injury, our fellow Amsterdammer and ECHOBOX radio DJ Oneven (a.k.a. Andrew Visser) offers up five pieces of electronic meatiness for our ravenous consumption. As a duel British/Dutch citizen, his electronic music heritage is strong and he draws on early IDM / Braindance methods to create a unique, trademark sound. With a huge passion for hardware, Oneven tries to keep the music as organic and honest as possible, mistakes and all.

Lead single (and synth master class) VM1S2RM springs out of the trap first, hurtling along at breakneck pace, peppered with curious bleeps, noises and percussion stabs, this IDM monster leaves little breathing room. Next up, M52t5, comes down a few gears and treats us to some laid back, electro tinged 808 beats and beautifully ethereal chords over the industrial, Kraftwerk-esque synth lines.

brrytmt takes us into another world completely, tugging at the heartstrings with its expressive, lofi chords, rolling over the top of some beautifully heavy, distorted beats. Tissue continues in that vein, more subdued machine sounds are juxtaposed to the frantic 707 rhythms and repeating vocal edit, conjuring up an eerily stunning scene.

Rounding off, we’re treated to more stirring, processed sounds with Dlaciebie. A sparse and precise piece of automaton music that invokes a certain sadness, proving once and for all that, machines do indeed have emotions...

Introducing the fifth episode of Aquatic Gardens, we're very happy to host one of the closest RPU friends, Dutch born but raised & based in Barcelona, FARDOE https://soundcloud.com/fardoebenz who performs a beautiful vinyl only set. It's time to let her drive you through some dubtechno, deep house and minimal, from which shines such great energy to warm up for the weekend.

FARDOE is an amazingly talented DJ who we had the pleasure to (not so accidentally) host for the first time back in 2020, in one of our most especial (and successful) raves in the outskirts of Amsterdam. She can be found in Barcelona's best record shops playing from time to time, always under her own name.

As good & old friends of her, we couldn't wait to have Fardoe as our main host today and we're delighted to be able to finally add her to the Aquatic Gardens contributors. A sweet & beautiful music selection for you all to enjoy.

Aquatic Gardens: FARDOE (05)

Azo, a DJ /producer who has consistently found new ways to strike a balance between a rich myriad of influences, who for some time now has been wowing audiences with her excellent radio shows and dazzling productions. To get an initial measure of her wide reaching audial identity, we can first look to her radio shows, which showcase a number of themes that point to varying features found within her own productions, with the vibes ranging from Electro, Techno, and expressive melodic flavours associated with the Rave.

Aquatic Gardens hits today a special milestone with its 10th episode, and we couldn't be happier to invite https://soundcloud.com/nicobamusic for this occasion, to celebrate both our milestone and his birthday.

Now an Amsterdamer after growing up Chile, Nicoba is dedicated to spread Latin American electronic music through his sets and his residency con:texto at Echobox. 

Nicoba is a massive and versatile selector and he takes us through explorations that go far beyond the electronic music spectrum. You can experiment it through his interpretation of the Origins show at Feed Radio, where he opened the series with a delightful dose of Chilean rap and hip hop. The soundscape he provided for Liliana Iturriaga's exhibition 'Concéntricos' is another proof that he sets no boundaries to his expeditions for our absolute pleasure.
