The mix series and music platform Mantissa takes its first steps into the label space with Mantissa 001. Written and produced by a close friend to the Mantissa family, this unnamed and elusive artist has begun the label with a bang, three club focused, space inspired tracks designed to decimate a dancefloor or atone a night's shenanigans at an after's.
Space Cadet opens the extra-terrestrial affair, weaving from acoustic elements to electronic and eclectic synth lines. Frozen Bounce finalising the A side with a wobbly number, woven together with quick cuts and jerky elements. U10A, the most structured of a complex affair, is a warming club tool perfect for both beginning and finishing an evening. It's remix similarly suitable for any party specific scenario, produced by the infamously talented artist Ciel.

Junes kicks off a new imprint, Dote, with a full-length exploration of the direct yet dreamlike sound he’s made his own. With his usual flair for crisp grooves and ghostly palettes, A View reveals a broader range of nuanced vibes. Second Wind and Stop, Elate show a playful buoyancy, and a sense of discovery in tracks like Balancing Act and Two-Sided Embrace add a narrative pace to the collection. There’s time for some of the creeping, spaced out atmospheres that hallmark some of Junes’ previous best, but with tracks like Packaging, the realisation of this sound is richer than ever. There’s a restless feel throughout the work, too – especially evident in the closer Spooked – and a feeling that we’ve been on a trip that doesn’t end here.

Inner Zone’s debut EP on The Bricks affectionately reminisces the past - time travelling through dreamy breaks and acid to 90s rave – while remaining firmly rooted in the present.

The ‘JV Sports EP’ marks the seventh release on Anna Wall’s imprint and it’s a long time coming; the trio have been producing together for over five years and only now is their music finally seeing the light of day. Alex Anderson, Rupes & Dr Baird met in London during the years of the Make Me loft parties in 2013-15; their history in the clubs an audible influence within their productions. This EP was started back in the days of bleary-eyed late nights in 2015 and finished in 2020, a distinctive trip through styles reflecting their broad taste.

In the studio they are fond of hardware; the classic sounds of the Roland JV-2080 can be heard in ‘JV Sports’, the X0xb0x 303 for the acid line on ‘Reality Grid', and the Kawai K5000S features on synth duty in ‘The Last Arpy’. Alec Falconer ramps up the BPM for the remix, delivering an unmissable breaks version that craves for a dancefloor.

Since 2013 Dowd has been warming up dance floors at some of Liverpools finest underground parties, and further a field. Supporting the likes of Mandar, Djebali, and Tama Sumo to name just a few.  

Dowd like many, has used 2020 as a year growth .To home in on his skills in the studio, With an impressive 3 releases on Bandcamp already not to mention the forthcoming Cuts on various Labels too. Dowds well and truly hit 2021 running....

This hour long mix has a pure old school party vibe, with heavy baselines and melodies to crush any dance floor! Cleary programmed by true selector with an experienced record bag.
