On December 3, 2024, South Korea faced a pro-government coup attempt led by the sitting president. Fortunately, the wisdom and resilience of the people led to a peaceful resolution, with the declaration of martial law lifted and no injuries reported. However, the event deeply resonated with the painful memories of the military-imposed martial law 43 years ago, causing emotional turmoil for many. We hope for a swift return to normalcy for the nation.

The piercing winds of December 3rd(123),
A chilling silence gripped the earth.
The ghost of forty-three years past
Rose again to haunt us,
Filling hearts with chaos and boundless fear.

No voices shattered the stillness,
No beacon to reveal the truth.
The icy specter of marching boots
Shook our spirits,
Yet we stood, unbroken and defiant.

Like the unyielding footprints of those boots,
Time leaves its scars as it passes by.
In this fleeting moment, stay vigilant.
Let your resolve stand unshaken,
And pierce the shadows to see the world as it is.

Even in the depths of chaos, do not falter:
The darkest night gives birth to dawn.
Its light will caress the frozen earth
And lift us to rise anew.

A heart that stays awake
Cannot be broken.
Eyes that refuse to close
Will guard the promise of tomorrow.
Even amidst the shadows, the light persists,

에이는 겨울바람의 123밤,
대지에 내려앉은 침묵 속에서
43년 전의 망령이 엄습했네.
놀람과 혼돈,
그 끝을 알 수 없는 공포 속에.

누구의 목소리도 들리지 않고
무엇이 옳은지도 모른 채,
차갑게 스며드는 군화발의 망령이
마음을 흔들었지만,
결코 무너지지 않았노라.

군화발의 발자국처럼
흔적을 남기고 가는 시간들,
그 속에서 깨어있으라.
흔들리지 않는 마음으로
세상의 진실을 보아라.

혼돈 속에서도 잊지 말라.
어둠이 가장 짙을 때,
새벽은 시작되리니.
그 빛은 차가운 대지를 품고,
우리를 다시 일으켜 세우리라.

깨어 있는 마음은
그 어떤 힘도 꺾을 수 없고,
결코 잠들지 않는 눈은
