The Remixes collection is a full-length re-imagination of "A Color Map of the Sun." Derek Vincent Smith – aka Pretty Lights – invited producers from a wide stylistic spectrum to remix the tracks from his latest album. Derek produced "A Color Map of the Sun" with no intention of having it be an album of dance floor bangers, but rather a collection of music that can be enjoyed anyplace, anytime, all the time.

These 'Remixes' are other artists’ interpretations of his compositions and self made vinyl samples. The tracks are mostly intended to be hard hitting, but they are also just very different. See the track list below for all artists involved in the Pretty Lights’ "A Color Map of the Sun Remixes."

Had the privilege to work with a fellow NZ artist called Pieter T on his sophomore album titled Completion. This was one of three tracks that I cut for his album and I decided to update it a little drums / melody wise.

I've always been a fan of the track Spanish Joint  but I felt like the original is fairly mellow and couldn't find a way to fit it into my DJ sets. So i remixed this acoustic Spanish Joint with a more vibey dance feel so I can play out. Added new synths, keys, drums, bass, and sound efx.

This record is a snapshot in time for me. I wrote most of it on tour over the past year, from Tokyo to New York, Los Angeles to Paris, and sonically it reflects that up-and-down pace of the road and my effort to find moments of peace amongst it.
