Star 星, the 2020 hit single by @shelhiel has been re envisioned by Asia’s heavy hitters PUTOCHINOMARICÓN, KONA and rEmPiT g0dDe$$. Hypnotic Y2K Pop remixed to melt dance floors. 

Shelhiel is a maximalist pop producer, songwriter, artist and creative director based in Kuala Lumpur. From growing up playing the piano and ‘raving’ to PC game soundtracks to singing in mando-pop competitions, Shelhiel’s productions are a combination of his pop/singing background and hardcore/techno/house/club music influences. His music is also a reflection of the rich tapestry of cultures across Malaysia with many of his productions featuring multiple languages and cultural inspirations.

Blending sci-fi sonics with infectious & ethereal vocal melodies, ''Where The Willow Weeps" is a meditation on in-vain attempts to repress emotions that can't be resisted and the cathartic release that can come from accepting these unavoidable feelings. “The Latin derivative of the word ‘emotion’ literally stands for ‘energy in motion’. This song is my attempt to articulate this sensation of an emotional purge that occurs within you and the release you feel as it happens” Happy New Tears adds.

''Where The Willow Weeps'' comes complete with a mix and master by Amnesia Scanner-collaborating artist Sin Maldita and a visceral music video by Ouroboros, the director-duo consisting of Jeremy Carne & Nikolas Kasinos. The striking video frames Happy New Tears within breath-taking natural landscapes, metaphorically emulating the powerful emotions the song alludes to.
