I met Gisto, one of Western Canada's finest dancehall / reggae artists, around 2007 when I was spending alot of time in the Kootenays. He played in a seminal interior jam band called Wasabi Collective with Melissa Meretsky, another great pal. This is an original of his that I just happened to hear at his studio, and a quick request for the vocal yielded these results. He has released four albums, With Sword and Shield and Kim Churchill in 2010, Detail of Distance in 2012 and Silence/Win in 2014. He is signed to Montreal-based Canadian label Indica Records.

Each year for the past 5, I've done a DJ mix of my original tunes to sell and give away at Shambhala Music Festival in beautiful Nelson BC, Canada. They leaned in different directions each year, and this one from 2010 leans on hiphop, disco breaks, and deep house near the beginning, and progresses into some electrofunk, 90s house, breaks, and booty near the end. This gem hails from 1986 and the original just had a ton of schmutz in there - wild out of time scratches and just unruliness in general, some of which i preserved, some which got the snip. Remastered with additional drums, FX, and bass drops but stays pretty true to the OG electro feel.
