Peace of Kotto is one of a series of instrumental tracks Larry calls
'musicmentals' (there are hundreds of them) with most being experimental,
but every now and then one stands out, Peace of Kotto was that track.  It
started out as sounds from a new proteus rack unit and is produced solely
with sounds from the proteus 2.  Peace of Kotto is named after the
pizzicato strings patch.

Larry has worked with all of the big names in the New Jersey / New York
underground scene from the eighties until present day.  Larry has been in
music since he was 8 yrs old and plays six instruments. Excelling on the
saxophone, keys, Larry is also a rock solid drummer.  Soulfulbeats are
delighted to present Larry P Rauson and Peace of Kotto..........

“When You Feel What Love Has” is the brand new 2016 song and dance production from D-Train and House music legend DJ Lenny Fontana. Lenny at the helm in the studio alongside James ‘D-Train’ Williams, together they have created another classic New York dance-floor hit with crisp beats and infectious melodies wrapped around a vocal that could only ever be recognised as the power-tones of James himself. The refrain “open my arms, I can’t believe, open my arms I can’t receive it” is a deep-rooted D-Train hook, perfectly executed as if it was straight off one of the act’s Prelude 12” smashes from the mid-80’s, the way that those songs always had a secondary vocal hook cleverly layered into the journey of the song like “with the love I have inside of me we can turn this world around”  from “You’re The One” was a secondary, yet strong hook line that resonated on the dance floor. “When You Feel What Love Has” has that magic too as the rhythm reverberates around the room enrapturing your senses into one. 
With five mixes, all high in production from the Original, the NYC Deeper Dubb plus NYC Deep Dubb Instrumental along with the Radio and instrumental from the Original mix. A perfect set..

This new cut from Daymé Arocena - a re-imagining of Peven Everett's dancefloor shaker 'Stuck' - comes from her new One Takes EP. The EP finds Daymé Arocena bouncing around ideas with label boss Gilles Peterson & co-producer Simbad to put her unique spin on five different covers. Re-imagining cuts ranging from Italian obscurities to US house heroes, the sessions (as you might guess from the title) were about taking down whichever ideas came first. Working in a tradition of covers that's long been ingrained in jazz as well as Latin music, One Takes finds them taking that approach and running with it.

It's a perfect vehicle for Daymé to bridge musical worlds in a way that's always come naturally. With an upbringing split between classical training, early jazz greats like Billie Holiday and the spiritual and musical foundations of the Santería religion, she's grown up seeing the bigger picture.

Since Paul's passing, he pops into my mind almost daily. He gave me my first break in this industry, and has always guided and supported me. So many tracks come to my mind when i think about Paul, and yesterday his presence was with me really strongly and i couldn't stop thinking about him, and how he inspired me in so many ways. I just needed to play music that reminded me of Paul Trouble and some truly amazing times in my life. so here is is. Nearly 4 hours of tracks that flowed from me yesterday (all very spiritual i know, but that's the truth). Some of the mixing ain't the best and there's a few key clashes but i thought fuck it just share it. I hope you enjoy!
