Dominican-born, New York City-raised artist @DELABAE is influenced by a wide range of musical genres but has a particular fondness for sounds derived from his Afro-Caribbean and Dominican roots, having grown up in a melting pot and one of the world's most multi-cultural cities. Alexis, aka DELABAE, is inspirited by New York City’s ever-evolving dance floors and finds his muse through its vibrant underground dance music scene. DELABAE's passion and dedication to honing his craft compelled him to forgo law school and abandon his regular 9-to-5 career to fully immerse himself in the creativity which the enthralling community of his home city has ignited within him. DELABAE is committed to using his music and artistry to increase and revolutionize queer Latino representations through mediums of film, fashion, and music on a local and global scale.

The official dance remixes in the late '90s and early 2000s were so influential to me. Hex Hector is one my icons along with people who also remixed all the divas like Maurice Joshua, Ralphi Rosario, Thunderpuss, Hector Fonseca, Junior Sanchez.  These remixes represent the intersection of Top 40 and the female pop vocal. I didn't really realize how much of this genre was all women vocalists but it makes sense because so many of the women were my inspiration and still are today. I think the sound I'm interested in is so represented by this mix. This is for all the trans girls and gay boys and non-binary beauties living their pop star fantasies in the early 2000s, pretending the bedroom is the gay club. Thank you Amber, Brandy, Sunshine, Ashanti, Beyoncé, Janet, Monica, Jessica, Christina (MILIAN!), Mandy, Sisely, (had to look up her name...Hex Hector really said yes to remixing a track from the Lizzie McGuire Movie soundtrack- it is my fave track in the mix), Deborah, all of the Pussycat Dolls, Britney, Whitney, Faith, Kelly, Angie, the girls from Dream, Michelle, Tamia, Jocelyn, Mariah, Kelly, LaTavia, LeToya, and Kylie because I forgot to include her. Sorry Kylie.
