Hey guys, my new single, Epilogue, is OUT NOW! I've been a metal head for most of my life, and in particular, I've always had a thing for cheesy power metal and fantasy movies. Bands like Sonata Arctica, Kamelot, Nightwish, Nocturnal Rites, Rhapsody, Stratovarius, Blind Guardian, Freedom Call, Dragonland, and plenty of others. I grew up listening to it and learned a lot of what I know about playing guitar and music from these bands. Life of War is a 45 minute, orchestral suite based on a very personal story. In 2016, my older brother, Adam, took his own life. He was also a musician and talented piano player. Unfortunately, before doing so, he decided to delete every video and almost every piece of music he made, which is something none of us will ever understand. This album is dedicated to my brother and his memory, and tells a story that resembles his struggle with mental illness and his ultimate fate in life.

Life of War follows the story of a viking-age warrior and his life of fighting battles, dealing with the aftermath and the mental anguish, returning home to family and loved ones, only to be called back out to war to face his demise in a final battle.

Adam struggled with severe schizophrenia for most of his life. Over the years, he fought the illness as best as he could, but ultimately lost his final battle in January, 2016. Him and I always shared a bond with music. He was an avid pianist and musician. As kids, we would set up a video camera to record in his bedroom while he played drums on a school history book, and I played guitar. I would show him my Iron Maiden cd’s, and he would show me his death metal cd’s. He was also into history and loved learning about the past. A year or so before his passing, he was living in the mountains of southern California and was depressed that he didn’t have a proper piano to play. I had a Korg Triton keyboard that I wasn’t using, so one day, I drove up to the mountains and gave him my keyboard. We talked for a long time that day. Music, life, death, nature. It was one of the last times I saw him in person. I had spoken with him a few times on the phone after, but it was obvious his mental state was deteriorating. I’ll never forget our life growing up together and his unique laugh and sense of humor. Adam was one of 4 siblings in our family.

If you or a loved one is depressed or suicidal, talk to them. Be there for them. Do your best to help them.

I dedicate this to you Adam. Love you bro.

Depths of Winter sets the stage for my new concept album, The Promise, which is based on a story of a couple who make a dangerous trek into the heart of a national park, in the depths of a cold and harsh winter. After slipping on ice and falling into a giant chasm, the husband must make the ultimate sacrifice by letting go in order to save his wife so she can escape and live on.

The Promise is an epic mix of orchestral/cinematic music with electronic elements. The music is big, dramatic, melodic and emotional, with reoccurring themes and soundscapes that will put you right in the center of this cold and ominous journey. A unique, and innovating take on modern cinematic music that pushes the boundary on telling stories without the need for an accompanying film or lyrics.

All of the art covers are my own personal photos taken on various trips to national parks around the country and different parts of Europe with my wife. On these trips we encounter various situations that could potentially result in harm or danger. This album is an ode to my own personal feelings and will to sacrifice my own well being for her safety. If you have a family member or loved one, I'm sure this sentiment will resonate with you.

I've always had a very deep and vivid imagination, and it especially comes through in my dreams. This year I had one in particular that remains the most beautiful and mesmerizing lucid dream I've ever had. So I literally woke up from this dream and immediately wrote this song.
