Life was full of twists and turns, highs and lows, opportunities and obstacles. From one day to the next new situations presented themselves, ones that could change the course of everything; for better or for worse. Sometimes you took a leap of faith, casting yourself into the unknown. At others you retreat, hoping for an easy ride. It was impossible to know what the future held, you had to just keep on going...

San Francisco's Roam Recordings have come a long way since their first release 20 years ago. Back then a group of ravers were looking for parties across the US, Canada and Mexico which soon snowballed, under the guidance of producer Jason Peters, into a label which has housed artists from around the world operating in the realms of cosmic techno, disco, acid house, synth and psychedelia. It's these sonics that make up their 100th release which brings together label family, affiliates and new faces, including Theus Mago, Zakmina, Kate Stein and Teniente Castillo, to showcase the past, present and future of the label.

It’s with great pleasure we welcome the Slovenians RotorMotor to our eighth release on Club Mackan. The EP called ‘Ouroboros’ features two original tracks with remixes by the Swedish label boss himself—Marcus Christiansen and the amazing Brazilian producer Neurotiker.Both original songs contain vocals written and performed by Dario Nožic Serini - Dacho, one of the most famous Slovenian vocalists and the man behind the song Moje Milo. The two poems are about the circularity of desires and the emotional rollercoaster that occurs as a result. Even if after all the ups and downs you find yourself at the beginning, your path is the one that makes you feel joy and melancholy in your search for eternity. And that's exactly what drives these two tracks forward.Mogla Si features beautiful melancholic chords. A fat bassline accompanied by sparkling arps and beautiful vocals going between determination and desperation. The track ends with a naive yet pleasing synth lead that cries out in the back.Ouroboros is a breakbeat track that with its bassline flirts with the realm of trance. As the track progresses, beautiful arps are introduced until the track transforms into a rave-y 4x4 trance anthem.With subtle italo inspired melodies and vocoders, Neurotiker transforms Mogla Si into something completely different and we love it! A dark driving modern italo disco anthem.With his signature snares and driving bassline, Marcus gives Ouroboros a synthwave inspired makeover. Huge pads set the mood while the bass and snares drive the track forward until it eventually breaks down into the original rave-y chorus.Motor is a machine that converts electrical energy to mechanical energy. Rotor turns motion into heat. They are RotorMotor ... and the wheel has just begun to turn.

Operating from sundered soils - Eftersom is a triangle formed between Ravage Sentimental, close collaborator Jérôme Darmois and Chris Vella aka Moderne Romance. The term 'Eftersom' is used as a nod to their cross-border bond, a bond galvanized by a simple love of music, unwavering creative drive and a fair collection of imperfect studio gear.

With their LP « LIE » lined up for the latter half of 2023 - here the trio presents Tourne Tourne, a precursor to the project, which comes coloured with remixes from Tel-Aviv-based Niv Ast, Mufti, Radial Gaze and Ravage Sentimental herself.

The original kicks things off with a purposeful march. Bold, discordant shards are set above a burning guitar riff and a sultry vocal line which build up a bright, effective Indie recording. Niv Ast then sharpens the energy and turns it into an electro-tinged club track. Mexico's Mufti then suffuses the single with some 80s synthesis before Radial Gaze offers up two unique takes. Their 'Pop' remix lays pellucid twinkles over tight, sharp rhythms, while their Indie remix sets climbing tones over steady, persistent drums across a forceful club tool.

Ravage Sentimental then uses raw, organic elements while allowing her vocals to shine before the warped, hallucinogenic tones of 'Precious' bring things to a close. Thick synthesis, brash drum work and more ghostly vocals evince the sonic symbiosis of the trio while offering an exciting insight into what’s to come.

After months of spinning ideas, jamming instruments and carving out musical sweetness across multiple countries, finally this gem arises from ether! Enjoy 'Maggot Monday' by FUNBOYS & ACKERMAN! Their multinational collab is joined by remixers JUSTINE FOREVER, KATE STEIN and ALF CHAMPION & MDHTR. 

FUNBOYS & ACKERMAN's EP opens with the mind-bending psychedelic rave anthem 'Maggot Monday'. The remix by Fucalong Files head honcho ALF CHAMPION and his buddy MDHTR infuses the original with experimental beats hitting deep from Mexican hyperspace. Hyperloop jump forward to 'Be A Jedi'! With its mysterious tones, bouncy beats and again beautiful live vibe; this power tune masterfully pulls you on the

PREMIERE: Funboys & AckerMan - Be A Jedi

The forthcoming episode on Espacio Cielo is a sturdy one: Paris-born, Barcelona-based Agle makes his debut on the mighty Spanish powerhouse with “Full of Stars”, a three-masterpiece EP featuring two versions of the title track plus “I’m A Machine” and outstanding remixes made with love by none other than Silicodisco and Moo Moonster (SXDNS058) & Parissior (SXDNS206).

With originals and remixes published on Ritmo Fatale, Ombra International, Heimlich Musik, Days Of Being Wild, Latido, THISBE, Emerald & Doreen, and Bottom Forty, Agle is one of the “artists to add to favourites” amid the so-called Indie Dance/Dark Disco scene. 

His retro-embedded sonority, encompassing vital beloved genres such as Disco, Italo, New Wave, EBM & whatnot, comes seamlessly packed with high-level production skills and heavy doses of creativity resulting in a rich outcome solely devoted to creating new and unforgettable dance floor memories. Premiered here, the Dark Mix is the perfect example of what the amalgamation of his influences is able to deliver. Heavy and beefy but at the same time melodic and trippy, with its beautiful arpeggios and throbbing bassline, the opening theme of the EP is beyond a shadow of a doubt a peak-time-only cut.
