Up and coming Mexican artist Ademarr joins Roam Recordings with two originals to form the Cannibal EP. The title track combines guitars, echoes of voices, and dark stylish electronic rhythms into a driving dance floor mover. To The West is an aptly named tune that weaves live bass, guitar twangs, and harmonica into a futuristic Western soundscape. Up first on remix duty is Zombies in Miami that take Cannibal deeper into hypnotic territory with the expert dance floor touch of their live shows. Javi Redondo takes To The West into more chilled out territory with arped out synthesizers and congas perfect for an epic daytime jam session.

GUN (Grim Up North), the new alias of Newcastle mainstay Peter Wilson, aka one-half of People Get Real, debuts on Me Me Me this August with 'The Reef' EP featuring remixes from REES & Sahar, Fall Forward & Grainger and Kiaki. Over many years as People Get Real, Wilson has established himself as one of house and disco's most assured and accomplished DJ and production duos. He has played at various major clubs and festivals globally, has served up a wealth of club-ready weapons on his co-founded Join Our Club label, and now branches out with something just as vital under the new alias, GUN. Opener 'El Carbonara' is an eight-minute, acid-laced mind melter. The pressurised drums, warped synths and jacked-up drums chug along with an inviting rawness that will make a significant impact. First to remix are two of the North East's latest rising stars: Middlesborough's very own REES & Sahar join to significant effect to flip 'El Carbonara' into a more unhinged and spaced out track with wonky grooves and tripped out fx. Next up is the fantastic 'The Reef (BeefMix),' a heavy, off-balance house cut with rugged textures, blissed-out pianos for hands in the air moments and plenty of subtle euphoria in the lush pads. The same tune gets a standout Acid Dub the layers in the 303 and allows it to run wild and take dancers to another level. Fresh off the back of a Beatport Electro Chart-topper, Fall Forward & Grainger once again impress with their remix of 'The Reef.' Powered by a fat, twisted bassline and with big old-school piano stabs, it is celebratory and uplifting in tasteful and effective ways. GUN's 'Boput' slows things down to a tense and paranoid crawl, crashing hits and drums for a dark atmosphere. Prickly acid, jacked-up percussion and modulated synths all add fryer colour and detail to this backroom classic. Last of all comes a remix from Kiaki, a brand new artist and young talent who will release a full debut on this label later in the year. His version is a leggy and shadowy, industrial-tinged dark disco groove with angular drums and tension in the synths.

Duro returns with "Derrumbes Y Escaleras", the first collaboration from Iñigo Vontier & Theus Mago's upcoming album. The single is inspired by the Indian board game "Snakes and Ladders" and the hallucinogenic mushroom "psilocybe caerulescens" popularly known as "Derrumbe". This mushroom is one of the most important species in the country and was formerly used in prehispanic religious ceremonies. The trip comes with remixes by Englishman Chez de Milo and US duo Zillas On Acid.

His opener here is "Derrumbes Y Escaleras". Instantly you feel the effect of deep bass, ancestral flutes and psychedelic melodies coursing through your system, while the inner voices guide you to the deepest part of your being. Chez de Milo follows with a solid, rumbling percussion base, intoxicated flutes and synths laden you to the next existential plane.

The nine-minute Zillas On Acid’s trip uses the bassline to keep you lucid and present, while the flutes, frenetic arpeggios and percussion create an inner chaos. Inspired by the Mexican rave scene of the 2000s, the "Saiko Mix" has a catchy bouncy bass, rolling percussion and acid sounds that feel like melted lasers coming out of the speakers.

Closing the EP is the B-Side "Zumo Di Batuca", an experimental break cut. As it progresses the vocals and synthetic sounds disintegrate and melt into a solid, cyclical sound mix that keeps you in a trance state.

Introverso lands on Espacio Cielo with a mortal and bloody release. In his “Cadaver” EP, the young and promising Léon-based producer shows his Dark Disco influences through two well-constructed originals in which he skilfully combines lots of arpeggios with tons of warm synths. On the remix duties, JGR and Cannibal Coconuts.

With a sonority defined as futuristic and rich in acid textures filled with retro tints, electric guitar riffs, and clubbing basses, Introverso seizes his debut on an important European imprint to showcase his competent producing skills. His “Asesino”, premiered here, delivers a vibrant atmosphere built on frantic arpeggiated synth layers, a sturdy bassline, and a beautiful acid lead. The kid seems to know what he is doing, doesn’t he? Looking forward to checking his future endeavours.

Local Suicide and Skelesys join forces for the 9th release on London clubnight and record label, Snap, Crackle & Pop, delivering a throbbing, hypnotic dive into the darkest recesses of electro and techno. A hard-hitting remix from Autumns provides a more club driven assault on title track You are Mine whilst The KVB glide through a new-beat influenced take on Naked and Confused.

Of the release, Local Suicide sum up the chance writing process with Skelesys: "The second time we ever met up with Skelesys was a few years ago at a party at Griessmuehle. After the party - although we hardly knew each other - slightly intoxicated we decided to come back to ours and make a track. The story of Frankenstein as a dream girl was born, You Are Mine.
The second track was created after a Sunday afternoon at Berghain. There was a power cut that lasted pretty long and everyone was Naked & Confused.
Built To Fail is one of the last tracks we created together. It’s about living in Berlin, not fitting into the notion of what successful or normal people are supposed to be like, but not giving a damn.
Making music with Skelesys is always so much fun and effortless. We share the same vision and music taste and when we’re together in the studio everything makes sense."

Escaping was a necessity; living in a concrete jungle made her feel trapped, at times as though she were fighting for breath. Whether it was the peace of the countryside or the paradisiacal surroundings of the beach, these places gave her a sense of renewal, refreshing her mind and her senses. This would only last as long as the trips did, it was a sad truth that the rejuvenation would soon dissipate as she stepped back into the rat race. 

As is their annual tradition, in December Leipzig's R.A.N.D. Muzik Recordings marked the end of another year with a VA compilation featuring music from fresh faces and old friends. Swirling around the sounds central to the label - breaks, house, electro and techno - the four-track EP calls on the talents of R.A.N.D regular Tim Schlockermann and new blood Adam Strömstedt, Barney In The Tunnel and Olsvangèr.

Bonkers first release of 2022 arrived, welcoming new staggering members to the label from Argentina: Poulper co-founder of Quixotical Records and Renuna duo formed by Cali Burton Y Tots, part of ogia family. “Palm Tree Walk” is their new Ep featuring two powerful originals and four massive remixes.

We open the EP with the track that gives its name to “Palm Tree Walk”. A slow and travelling walk takes us to the sky crossed by palm trees and percussion. Rhythmic and faded vocals sound like a ´cha-cha-cha´ without forgetting a restless bassline. Prepare your boots for the ride!

The second cut of the EP is a gem called “Don Electron”. Stepping up with an indie and acid cut, inspired by those subatomic particles which in our electronic physics become a god. Dense and fun groove with hybrid synths spinning and the bass station non-stop blending. Pure atoms to dance!

Followed by remixes with Palm Tree Walk by the producers from Chihuahua: Enjanzea2 with a flying and dynamic ride, perfect piece for the dance floor, faded guitars that leave a trail, mysterious melodies and spatial landscapes in this version, an exquisite gem within the Ep.

We continue with Javier Martinez, a native of OAXACA Mexico and part of Rotten city records, Nein and more. A seriously dark version of Palm Tree Walk, constant intrigue and melodic overtones fly over the surface, a refined version that takes you hypnotized without stopping moving.

The Italian producer with enormous trajectory CSK, brings us an old school re-version of Don Electron, keeping elements and creating a complete odyssey to shred. Taking a  break on a path of quick steps, dark synths, and crazy drums complete the version.

We closed with the head of Bonkers Ludviq, and he could not be absent in this EP. With his version ‘Mental,’ he gets into our heads to create a hybrid mix of Don Electron. Simmer breaks and dense beat, loaded with shifting percussion and rhythmic keys that plunge you into the nocturnal jungle. Eyes closed and a sensory journey to complete this fantastic EP.
