Roam Recordings kicks off 2022 with up and coming Canadian artist RJ Maxwell who brings forth two original electronic dance floor movers. The title track - Motherboard - is a driving energetic offering with melodic electronic underpinnings. The second original - Activate - is an upbeat chugger with a playful vocal. The EP is backed with three diverse remixes. The first is from Wonder Stories boss AIMES who infuses dark psychedelic energy into a shimmering remix of the original title track. For the second remix Canadian cohorts jON2 join in with a gorgeous low slung version of Motherboard. Rounding it out is Roam’s own Jason Peters who edges Activate into cosmic breaks territory.

The fourth compilation on Sulk Magic starts in style with "Shrimp Daddy", a dark, chugging piece of electronic disco from label owner Bird of Paradise. It sets the tone for the rest of the collection; Dead Love Embargo drops the low-slung "Transmutation", while Emile Strunz and Kolomensky both venture down an electro-influenced route on the acid-soaked "Casual Violence" and brooding "Raving Raven" respectively. There are some lighter moments, most notably on Dharma's shimmering Italo contribution, "A Quick Passing" and the textured ambience of Stove's "Ocean Loom", but overall the mood is designed for sweaty basements - a feeling that is expertly captured by Ian Blevins' "Fleshworld", a throbbing, rumbling piece of electronic disco.

Local Suicide will release their long-awaited debut album ‘Eros Anikate’ on their label Iptamenos Discos on 13th May. The title translates to ‘love invincible’ and draws influence from Sophocles’ play, ‘Antigone’ - an ancient Greek play based around tragedy in the aftermath of a civil war. ‘Eros Anikate’ will showcase the duo's renowned ‘technodisco’ sound, blending retro with modern elements, alongside moody baselines and haunting vocals, whilst featuring an array of exciting collaborators and friends including Curses, Hard Ton, Skelesys, Lee Stevens, The Hidden Cameras, Sissi Rada, Theus Mago, Kalipo, and Greek new wave legend Lena Platonos.

After a long process, we managed to get in touch with an
Australian four-piece that went by the name of Boxcar from 86-92, producing a lot of music ahead of its time.

They’ve recently started re-issuing their songs with modern producers on remix duty and after asking Romain FX to work on a remix, it was only natural that Fauve Records would work on a limited-edition vinyl-only release with a stellar cast.

For this edition, we have asked some of the coolest cats in the game to hand us a remix with their specific touch and an array of bangers came about. Donald’s House with a rave house-inspired remix, Fabrizio Mammarella with a more EBM/Italo touch, Jonny Rock with a dubby finger- licking-good take, and of course Romain FX with an intergalactic voyage.

For this striking 7th EP, we are lucky to have Mr. Ho back for another
massive delivery. This time complete with fully versatile house music.
A1 “Burrow” storms out the gate with an acid attack. The spooky
bassline, punchy drums, and acidic atmosphere makes this the complete peak time bomb. Then the EP smoothly roles into the A2, “TCB”. A loopy, repetitive drum pattern that is guaranteed to feature for many on repeat mode. For B1’s “Shoplift” Mr. Ho brings out the melody. This is a feel-good tune featuring an old school jungle-like drum pattern that makes this a great summer outdoor weapon. Finally, Mr. Ho's Klasse Wreck partner in crime Luca Loc azono provides a silkier twist on “Shoplift” for a vinyl only remix.

This EP provides a whole spectrum of tools for house heads. Groovy,
melodic, banging, or loopy, Mr. Ho has got them all covered.

Featuring remixes made with love by Skelesys (SXDNS139) and Larionov, Israel Padilla is back to his own label, the rising and shining Banshees Records, with “Control De Vidrios”, a darkness-embedded eight-track album – divided into six well-constructed originals and two insightful interpretations – devoted to showcasing the producing skills of the seasoned Toledo-based artist who spared no efforts and creativity to bring together his most flagrant influences to bring to life his vision of non-fluffy dance music. Expect a nervy combination of EBM, Industrial, Post-Punk, Cold Wave, Electronica, and Techno.

Premiered here, the valuable version Dmitry Larionov came up with brings the title track to a different realm: Starting by tempering the rawness of the original and impregnating it with a more upbeat but still extremely acid (aka dirty) attitude, the Russian artist won big in betting on a clearer and less naughty approach – a decision that turned his remix into one of the highlights of such a solid release.
