“The Blue Hour” is the second VA of Berlin-based THISBE Recordings, following “Black Ink” released in 2022. Curated by label owner Pyrame, the new compilation is an invitation to cruise through the blue hour, that unique time of the day from dusk to night.

During that special time lapse, as the sky goes through several shades of blue, so goes the record:

Dominik Marz´s “Bura´s Hymn” brings us straight above the Earth´s surface with a track as atmospheric as it can get, before Radial Gaze & Balam´s collab tune “Foreclosed” sets the scene for a groovy dance above the clouds.

We have already lost sight of the ground when World Wild Web initiates an immersion into an enigmatic phase of the voyage with his track “Extase”, where we do not really know in which time-space we find ourselves any more. Agle hints at a possible spot: “Sahel”, a tune that feels like a breeze across the desert, before Philip Lawns shakes everyone up with the upbeat “Johns”, bringing our feet back just above the ground. Volta Cab wraps up our imaginary trip with “Krasnodar Nights”, bringing a treat for the soul and some peace of mind. The night can now settle down.

“The Blue Hour“ is due to drop on Friday the 27th of September 2024 on vinyl and digitally via THISBE Recordings.

As the summer draws to a close and the nights begin to grow darker, we end our hiatus to bring you longtime friend of the label and a producer we admire, Canada's very own, Sid Le Rock, with a little help from two of Mexico's hottest production talents respectively: Cabizbajo and Colossio, who place their own unique stamp on Sid's latest EP ' Strutline Crisis'.

The title track certainly struts it's stuff, subtly sawing its way through the 'strutosphere' with melodic atmospherics that give way to chimes which decorate the sonic landscape.

'Crisis Hotline' keeps the atmosphere but ramps up the tension with whispered vocal stabs, which punctuate an urgent siren like bassline, which is the hallmark of the track.

Cabizbajo's interpretation of 'Strut Your Stuff' ups the pace from the original with 'machine gun' drum fills before hypnotic cowbells leave the track descending into tribal debauchery.

Finally, Colossio's reworking completes the release by bringing a pulsating and persistent acid laden builder, to close out the EP in the darkest but grooviest way possible.

Vestibular Glow is the musical alias adopted by Sviatoslav Nemchenko in 2021 when he began his journey as an artist, debuting in his hometown of Dnipro.

Having learned to play the piano as a child, Sviatoslav naturally gravitated toward electronic music when he discovered it later in life. He believes that blending dark and light elements in music amplifies the emotional depth of any genre. While his work spans a wide range of styles, his music maintains a unique and recognizable sound. His influences include EBM, New Beat, Post-Punk, Gothic Rock, Dark Disco, Acid, Synthwave, Minimal Synth, Darkwave, Coldwave, Indie Dance, New Wave, Electro, Industrial, and Italo. Over the years, Sviatoslav has steadily built an impressive body of work through continuous production.

His debut EP, *I Don’t Give A Fuck*, released on Regulardisco, is a collection of deeply personal tracks written during emotionally challenging times. After channeling this energy into his music, Sviatoslav decided to move to Kyiv for a fresh start. The EP itself is a split release: the first half features playful, melodic tracks, while the second half delivers a tighter, more intense sound, balancing dark and light tones.

The title track, *I Don’t Give a Fuck*, is an emotional outburst — a life motto applicable to any situation. To further emphasize this emotion, Sviatoslav collaborated with Kyiv-based producer Lvcerate and the acclaimed queer disco duo Hard Ton, who each brought a unique perspective to the track. *You Are N̶o̶t̶ Alone* holds particular significance for Sviatoslav, as it reflects a tender experience from his past. The bittersweet sentiment behind the track title explores the idea that, while loved ones may be far away and accessible only online, we must learn to navigate life independently.

The track *shARP* captures the melancholy and monotony of daily life, which can often feel endless. However, overcoming these cycles prepares us for the next chapter, which is why the track bursts with energy. *Unremember Memories* is a love letter to the cherished memories of a peaceful Ukraine before the full-scale invasion—a time that now feels like a distant dream.

Sviatoslav notes that when he feels balanced and energized, his music tends to be more aggressive, darker, and deeper. Conversely, when he's feeling down, he turns to the brighter aspects of life, expressing gratitude through his music. For him, music serves as a reflection of his emotional intelligence and personal journey.
