Starting the year with our VA series “Oddness” loaded with more weirdness and rarities. For Volume III we have on board a bunch of new and outstanding artists such as: Nick Hanzo & das molekuel, JGR, Ruksby, Second Gate and Ambrosia.
With “das molekuel” Belly Dance Services mastermind Nick Hanzo and his partner Geraldine have the goal to let molecules sparkle through electrifying music. Their new track 'Blaetterwald' is like a leave that gently starts to dance through marvelous Indie Dance lands, followed by gentle pirouettes until finally turning into wind like energy that never stops moving.
JGR (Julián García-Reyes) makes his Bonkers debut with 'Awaken'. The Chilean producer and DJ based in Madrid brings us a track that mixes elements ranging from new wave to electro, combined with nostalgic melodies that recall musical landscapes from the second half of the 80's.
Rising producer from Moscow Ruksby presents 'Numeros' it will fill you with a signature groove, a little dark, but not evil, at medium speeds, with a pinch of brutality and notes of decadence.
Inspired by the heat of the Mexican desert, barb wire and rusted walls, Second Gate delivers 'Frontera' his artistic vision of a hostile environment through synth stabs, powerful basslines and a creeping ambiance made out of live samples and granular synthesis. This one’s an EBM Monster designed to bring chaotic energy and a psychedelic feel to any dance floor it is played in.
Closing the VA, rising from the Pacific of Mexico, Ambrosia is the artistic name of Alexis Ramírez, an electronic music artist from Puerto Vallarta. He delivers 'Into Your Soul' with a dark touch and a hypnotic sequence, with flashes of melancholic overtones, ideal for opening the dance floor, with this track we conclude our third edition of Oddness.

With a rich, analogue welcome from ‘Mondo Dell’Arte’, ghostly vocals filled with tantalising longing accompany this appropriate entry point for the LP. The tight arpeggios are a perfect anchor for the magnetic, alluring vocal lines. Beautifully phased synthesis on ‘Alexithymia’ cries out across the crisp instrumentation. Cascading, dystopian tones are delivered throughout, and artful harmonic dissonance can be heard in ‘Venom In Spurts’. Intelligent odes to EBM and Proto House hit you on ‘Enigma Body Music'. Fizzing vocals and vast sound design add to this album’s fluidity. ‘Arthur Ave Rules' presents itself as a menacing peak-time triumph. The slicing, metallic motif swells and evolves throughout. A perfectly placed rimshot adds grounding to this sweltering track. World Wild Web's organ, guitar and drum machine-led music nods to the global Cosmic continuum, and explores themes of anxiety, overconsumption and Web 3.0. Back for another round, the unknown, yet unmistakable, disco-tech
demon behind M.I.L.F. Recordings returns with three fresh slabs of
electronic bondage. Kicking off the imprint’s’ third EP, “The Place To
Biffle", immediately enters a space of “Knight Rider” meets “Robot
Rock,” with it’s impressive array of 80’s electronica textures, low
frequency stabs, distorted guitar strums, expertly arranged into a
satisfying dub, that ends with an unexpected progression into a
chord driven burst. The EP’s second track, “Maison
d’Hot” (Boobgasm Edit), continues to build upon the label’s
signature niche of narrated audio dance erotica, with a fervent
anecdote on the the wonders of “The Boobgasm”, over a highly
swung breakbeat, and the rich decay of an analog style filter,
together, to bring you into a pulsating storm of sonic stimulation.
Closing out the session is track 3, “Hetero’Clit”, the downtempo
anchor of the trio, which takes on a more epic approach, utilizing
the power of synths, choirs, and FX, with a certain cinematic
intensity, size, and sense of space, that quickly begin to border on
the psychedelic. Altogether, another sensual storm of fully
functional, high quality, production work, for the mature listener, or
the daring jockey.

Once upon a time, on the eastern bank of The White River, when the fertile lands witnessed the most tremendous flames that had ever occurred, a divine spirit appeared blandly in the foggy waters. Cloaked in black garments, with ink-fish rings adorning every single finger and an ophidian mark on the countenance, the uncanny figure emerged from the water and extinguished the inferno as it slowly walked towards the scorching lands. Known as "Personal Sauveur" by the people, the figure began revealing the essence of the creative life force to the first Kalamari tribe and then vanished swiftly.

At the dawn of a makeshift civilization, the icon of "Personal Sauveur" started to be venerated throughout the Kalamari empire. The people chose to forsake their sun-worshipping beliefs and all symbols of oppression associated with them. Instead, the believers embraced an alternative way of life: harvesting forest fruits under the dark starry nights, transforming their lucid dreams into ritual chants, venerating earthly spirits in plural form, paying reverence to the sacred waters, and transforming every sickness into a profound body of knowledge. For centuries, the Kalamari mankind lived in peaceful harmony until the wicked despots returned and decimated the entire population. It marked the end of an era, so they say…

In 2020, a fortuitous discovery was made when a suitcase filled with mummified ink-fish rings was found in the swampy soils of a Brussels suburb. The antique treasure quickly captivated the Pathfinder's imagination. After some time, he decided to delve deeper into the lost civilization and felt compelled to revive it. He felt a strong sense of duty to embark on the "Personal Sauveur" quest, with everything beginning in the birthplace. As he set foot on the promised land, he found himself amidst dilapidated concrete social projects, shattered ethanol bottles strewn across the streets, GHB-infused strippers haggling at bus stops, and renowned bench street poets.


In the heart of the megalopolis, one day, the trio crossed paths at Bazar Olimpia while searching for specific weaponry and began discussing the destruction of symbols of oppression. Soon after, they united their weapons and devised a master plan to rewrite history once more. Drawing inspiration from post-communist and early capitalist field recordings, French-Polish slang slug rhymes, proto-paleo synth wave, and Eastern riddims, the band created a danceable and mesmerizing journey through the shanty town.


The debut album opens with 'Hydra Psalm,' a preaching ode to the tribe believers infused with a kosmische psych-rock undertone. 'Bania Maryja' refers to the symbol of oppression, the Virgin Maria, imposed during the Christian era. It combines Brussels-slang experimental rap with an abyssal scream groove. The terrestrial beat of "Praga Medina'' takes you on a lighthearted cruise through the district, capturing all its distinctive delights. 'The Kalamari People' presents a linguistic reinterpretation of the lost tribe dialect through modern calypso-xylo and infectious thumpadumpa rhythms. And last but not least, 'Kikimora' is a mechanical dark-o-punk tribute to the capricious witch of the night.

In a sonic realm where human ingenuity intertwines with alien machinery, the enigmatic duo known as SCADTA emerges with their third EP, 'Klaatu Barada Nikto.' With an otherworldly blend of electronic textures and mechanical rhythms, SCADTA transports listeners into a dystopian dreamscape, where artificial intelligence meets ethereal creativity.

From the opening track, it's evident that SCADTA's musical universe is a meticulously crafted one. ELO's remix of 'Klaatu Barada Nikto' is a harmonious meeting of minds, where the international producer infuses his structured sonic landscape with the futuristic artistry of SCADTA. ELO's remix breathes new life by momentarily by drifting  away from its mechanical foundations, offering a glimpse into the consciousness through ethereal pads and frenetic arpeggios which transport the listener to a realm where machines dream and dance.

'Klaatu Barada Nikto' is a testament to SCADTA's ability to bridge the gap between the familiar and the alien, the human and the machine. With their deft manipulation of sound and their penchant for crafting intricate sonic tapestries, SCADTA propels listeners on an interstellar journey, inviting us to embrace the symbiosis of technology and artistry in a universe yet to be fully explored.
