Here at Feed Your Head HQ are pleased to have been asked to premier this absolute sonic bomb of track forthcoming on the wonderful Innnisfallen label.

Enjanzea2, a duo formed by Javier Rascan and Ricardo Jain from Chihuahua Mexico lands on the 4th edition of our Innisfallen Series. The project's proposal travels between acid and spatial monophonic sounds, inspired by techno, house and electro. This great piece wouldn't be here without Ruary's hand which gathered all of these electronic elements together in "Pazuzu."

The EP includes two interesting remixes, one by Javier Ferrera, a multi-instrumentalist and music producer widely recognized for his energetic and rhythmic productions within his already distinguished sound range.

Cantor, a San Francisco-based musician and producer, contributes a production inspired by Detroit techno, punk, and new wave rhythms, which, combined with acid, string chaos, and broken cymbals, creates a unique piece that perfectly complements Vongold's already beloved vocals.

Bordello A Parigi’s latest release brings together two heavyweights for something particularly special. Aroy Dee, founder of M>O>S Recordings, has been at the coalface of machine music for more than twenty years; Marco Antonio Spaventi, an exceptional composer with over a decade’s experience. The pair offered the tear-stained vocoder ballad of “Desire” two years back, now they return for “Sorrow.” Crisp rhythms and considered synth scales form the bedrock from which J.C.’s emotion wrung lyrics ensnare. A tale of lovelorn pain, a psychological journey of lamentations and mistakes, the track adopts the heartache of wave romance and contrasts it with clean musical lines. The “Space Dub” of the flip transforms those powerful lyrics to give space for brightness to enter. Cascading chords and sunlight break through as arpeggio quivers introduce vocoder vocals in this superb re-interpretation that balances warmth with frigid shades.

The prolific Boyanza outfit kickstart ‘23 in amazing fashion with their “Girls With Guns” EP crafted by TAPIA. Classy spaced out sounds manoeuvring between the refined ends of the house and techno spectrum, with a splash of nostalgic disco vibe for good measure. The two originals are accompanied by a stellar remix from Alex Aguayo.
First up is “Acapulco Gold” featuring Badmoiselle & Vleks, a five minute trip moulded upon a distinct and sleek atmosphere, mysterious as it moves, but positive energy shines brightly through the cracks, as glistening synths and pads breathe life in to the chugging bass and crisp drum arrangements. Transcending you to the hazy hours of the night. Serving up their interpretation of the original is Alex Aguayo. The vocals flash in and out as feel good chords and melodies continue to develop as the track blossoms. Huge disco drums pulsating through the dance floor, ready to create moments as the track shines brightly within the storm of the night. Last but not least is title track “Girls With Guns”, a characteristic mood simmers from the get go, bubbling throughout maintaining a distinct drive which leaves the listener in a state of trance.
Tasteful sounds from an essential label of recent times, diving into the new year in the right way, showing they plan another year of integral releases from label regulars and faces of new.

PREMIERE | Tapia - Acapulco Gold feat. Badmoiselle & Vleks (Alex Aguayo Remix) [Boyanza] 2023

Synth aficionado Marcus Christiansen has been slowly carving his name in stone as one of the artists to watch amid the rich and prolific Nu Disco/Indie Dance scene. His strategy – releasing ace stuff usually with heavy doses of cosmic arpeggios and retro-futuristic elements –, so far, has been working flawlessly. With well-received appearances on vital labels such Espacio Cielo, Mélopée, Emerald & Doreen, and Weirdos, he lands now on Ilya Santana’s (SXDNS072) Astrolead with “Euphoric Escapade”, a four-track synth extravaganza (originals only, by the way) that showcases some of the many virtues of the rising Swedish producer. 

The track we were solicited to review/premiere is undoubtedly one of the finest cuts on the EP, in our humble opinion, and works as (another) proof that creativity and mastery tend to be highly present in Christiansen’s modus operandi when in studio. The title track is an ingenious and groovy 110-BPM theme with a beautiful Balearic gait triggered by melodic leads, generous synth portions, and a rhythmic percussive layer. Trippy and highly danceable, the way we like it!

PREMIERE  - Alberto Melloni - Scaleno (Ulla Records)

The acclaimed Catalan DJ and producer Esprit Divers is back with "Sanasana," the name of his latest single, which comes accompanied by three impressive remixes, the first by Venice Arms and two versions made by the in-house artists Theus Mago and Moisees.

Esprit Divers, also known as Coyu, has been very active in recent months, and his most recent collaboration with his remix of Sierra Madre's "Cumbres" has been a success. Now, he returns to Duro with "Sanasana," a techno cut that features chopped vocals, revealing pads, and synthesizers that drift you away, while the rhythm keeps you in a trance state.

The first remix, made by Venice Arms, the alternate project of Curses, is forceful, aggressive, and booming. With a retro-futuristic vibe, it's full of resonant synthesizers, alarms, and lasers that take you to another dimension.

The final two remixes, made by Duro's founding artists Theus Mago and Moisees, are equally impressive. The first is a powerful, incandescent, and acid cut with techno and rave influences that make you feel like you're at a warehouse party. The "Fluffy Mix" * that closes the EP, also made by Theus Mago and Moisees, takes you on a dreamlike journey with its resonant arpeggios and sedative pads that transport you between clouds and colours.

Esprit Divers’ ‘Sanasana’ will be available on April 28th.
