To celebrate the 20th anniversary of their seminal 2005 album Staring Into Space, Glaswegian duo Silicone Soul present a Darkroom Dubs reissue featuring two pivotal remixes that helped define the album’s legacy.

Leading the charge is Ewan Pearson’s electrifying remix of The Poisoner’s Diary — a masterclass in sonic transformation. Pearson channels raw new wave urgency into the original, fusing its proto-dark disco leanings with climactic synth flourishes and machine-gun claps. The result marked a creative breakthrough for Pearson and added a defining edge to Silicone Soul’s catalogue, foreshadowing the darker aesthetic that would come to shape European dancefloors.

The vocal version adds another layer of intensity with the haunting delivery of Stuart Gray (from Glasgow indie band Viva Stereo). His stark post-punk refrains narrate a chilling gothic tale of emotional unravelling — an allegory for love’s collapse.

Adding further weight to this anniversary package, Berlin’s Dirt Crew deliver a powerful rework of Inferno. Amplifying the original's deep dub foundations, they lay down an irresistible Italo-disco bassline while framing the timeless toast — 'What does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his own soul?’ The result is a remix that balances spiritual gravitas with dancefloor intensity, a reminder of Dirt Crew’s signature touch during their own breakthrough years.

These remixes have been lovingly remastered by Conor Dalton (Glowcast Audio) from the original DATs, giving DJs, collectors, and new listeners a fresh chance to experience two standout reinterpretations from the Silicone Soul archive. Twenty years on, they remain as vital as ever.

Silicone Soul - The Poisoner's Diary (Ewan Pearson Remix) [Darkroom Dubs]

Sinchi Music has always excelled at curating talent from across the world in its eclectic and avant-garde Altered States series. Through twelve distinctive volumes, we’ve championed forward-thinking artists from all corners of the musical landscape. The thirteenth continues that bold evolution.

Suba (Kyrgyzstan) with "Enchantment” invites us into a slower, deeper state of movement: a Hypnotic Reverie. Drawing on hypnotic tribal rhythms, the track builds on the waves of percussive trance, a spell woven from sharp beats and drone textures unfolding. The first glimpse into our 13th Altered States compilation is a captivating call to the dance floor.

Millhouse (US) maps the thermodynamics of the dance floor with “Heat Exchange” to induce the state of Kinetic resonance. This cosmic Italo disco exploration translates the push and pull of energy into a tapestry of bassline and melody, resulting in a sound that feels both universally familiar and thrillingly new.

Sarv's (Palestine) "Shartan" evokes a state of Cathartic Resistance. A story forged by Sarv in a shelter under missile fire, the track is a powerful synthesis of Eastern Mediterranean soul: a driving bassline, the strum of a Turkish baglama, and choked Greek vocals that plead, “Help me, feed me, I cannot move, freely, dive deep inside the hive.” It is a dark, hypnotic dance between survival and creation, where ancient arches frame a modern struggle, and movement becomes an act of defiance.

SPEYS's (Poland) "Breeze" evokes a state of Liminal Serenity. Inspired by a fresh spring gust, the track explores an appealing, undefined space between sonic landscapes. It is a cohesive musical ritual that captures the feeling of a gentle threshold, a moment of organic calm suspended between rhythmic definitions.

Jabba 2.3 (France) “What do i want” evokes a state of Sensory Alchemy. It begins with a vocal sample he long coveted, transformed through a slower, psychedelic lens. The introduction of undulating acid loops acts as the catalyst, turning the familiar into a trance of new sonic experience.

Misata's (Russia) "Crystal Error Memory" evokes a state of Lucid Recall. Inspired by the fragility and distortion of memories, the track uses a deep bassline for rhythm and sharp acid lines to create tension, perfectly capturing the sensation of a past moment surfacing with vivid yet altered clarity.

Rotciv is back with his new EP ‘Memory’, which marks the 20th release on Beartrax’s label Melodize. Throughout the record, the Berlin-based and native Brazilian producer explores his signature dark, mysterious, and atmospheric vibes shaped by the underground and queer club nights and dance-floors that fuel his sound, refined over almost 30 years behind the decks.

Maintaining Melodize’s specialized sound deep-rooted in moody electronic principles, the EP opens with ‘Memory’, a piercing, dark, synth dynamic alongside rich tonal textures in both harmony and melodies alike. Unapologetic, yet calming and reminiscent of a slow drive through the winter nights; cold, yet bold, sharp, and comforting.

First to remix ‘Memory’ with a nostalgic, synth-heavy 80's remix is Frankfurt-based DJ, producer, and visual artist Chinaski. Integrating his signature bold synth hooks into the track, Chinaski knows how to roll in with longing sentimentality. The remix features a bouncier approach with re-envisioned acoustic percussion and catchy synth arps, along with an eery dark disco feel.

On the B side, Rotciv kicks in with ‘Trintage’, which gives a sinister sensation with its hypnotising bass synth lines alongside contrasting, choir-like pads. Seeping with articulate poly-rhythmic synth arps, Trintage guides the listener to be indulged into a dream-like state on the border between both digital and analogue soundscapes, blurring the lines between fantasy and reality.

Next up is New York-based and founder of Samo Records, Facets, who takes on the next remix for ‘Trintage’ with a more electro-grunge techno approach consisting of heavier four to the floor kicks in company of Rotciv’s hypnotic textures. Having shifted the synth melody rhythmically, a sense of space and tension is created within the soundworld of this track. The play between gritty bass-end synths along with softer, textured high-ends helps emphasize the groove injected into this remix.

One last remix of ‘Memory’ by Melodize's own label founder, Beartrax, rounds out the EP. Available exclusively via digital bonus, Beartrax features his deeply hypnotic aesthetic by driving in ethereal synths alongside cosmic arps and slow-rolling rhythmic and pulsating groove lines.

This EP will be released on vinyl on the 21st of November followed by the digital release and bonus track on the 28th of November.

Before genres split and made their title, there was a little magic, and Venezia captures that essence throughout this record, pushing it forward for a new generation.

Wrong Era co-captain Fabrizio Mammarella delivers a relentless, no-holds-barred remix of ""Wild Things,"" reminding us why he’s a master of the sound.

With just one previous release under the Tutto Vetro alias on Spain’s Megebreakz (Oráculo), this marks a return to familiar territory for Venezia.

Venezia's 2015 So Strange EP helped shape the Curses sound and cemented a lasting bond with the Slow Motion / Wrong Era family.

ITALO TANZ Records is a side sublabel of Golden Soul Records. It was created by James Rod and reflects his fascination for the darker and more cosmic currents of Italodisco, Hi Energy and space oriented club music.

James Rod, born Jaime Rodríguez Navarro in Extremadura and now based in Berlin, has built a reputation as a producer and DJ with a distinct melodic touch. His work moves between Italo, nu disco, house and future disco. Golden Soul Records became his home for warm, synth driven disco and left field rhythm structures. ITALO TANZ Records grew out of his wish to explore a more nocturnal identity. It became the place where he channels the intensity of classic drum machine energy, the pull of retro futuristic arpeggios, and the atmosphere of deep cosmic club culture.

ITALO TANZ Records stands for a sound that feels nostalgic yet forward leaning. It is a label for people who want to experience the mysterious side of Italo. The music invites the listener into a space where neon light meets starlit tension and where the essence of the eighties merges with a darker and more hypnotic interpretation of Hi Energy.

A storm is brewing on Espacio Cielo. With Hurricane EP, TDWS (Ted Williams) channels the restless pulse of futuristic indie dance into a collection that feels both cinematic and built for late-night floors. Melodic and sharp, his sound bridges the nostalgia of Italo disco with a forward-looking energy that refuses to stand still.

The title cut Hurricane leads the charge with soaring synth lines and an emotional core that lingers long after the drop. Blackbird and Pursuit expand the spectrum, tracing new sonic horizons where driving basslines and textural details converge in hypnotic motion.

On remix duties, Parissior tears the original apart and rebuilds it at a higher speed. Distorted, raw, and unapologetically wild, his version of Hurricane pushes the EP into darker and more explosive territory.

TECHNOBETON are two people who started a corporation in Sofia, Bulgaria as a joint venture between 100% TECHNO and 100% BETON. The company aims to translate beats and basslines to concrete tracks and builds them in real scale and in 100% BETON, thus examining certain spatial and sculptural properties of contemporary Techno music. In a second conceptual loop the built concrete is being liquified to sound tracks and arranged in a loud timeline to 100% TECHNO. All together 100% TECHNO + 100% BETON react in a self-sufficient closed circuit and form the sound and vision of TECHNOBETON.
