This week we're happy to have our disco tickled by Dutch don San Proper. 

Having worked with Laurent Garnier, Villalobos and Tom Trago, it's safe to say that Proper knows a thing or two about house music - and on the Ransom Note Mix he spends 2 hours proving just that. 

For us, the high point comes 'round an hour in when Proper works from the bitchy Chicago acid classic 'I'm Free', right up to some unknown, twisted 303 banger, but there's plenty for everyone, from deep tracky techno, to melodic, disco tinged house.

Neisy Wilson is a Cuban jazz singer, pianist, and composer whose flawless performances have captivated international audiences with her experimental original works, as well as her fresh take on genre standards. She began studying music at the age of 7, performed at festivals in her hometown of Santiago de Cuba throughout her teens, and eventually moved to Havana to study composition at the University of Arts. Neisy received her Bachelor's degree in Jazz vocal and music composition in 2005, winning acclaim from journalists within the country for her contributions to a new era of Cuban sound. She went on to tour extensively throughout Latin America, Jordan, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates before ultimately settling in Montreal, Canada.An award-winning singer and composer, Neisy has shared the stage with a variety of well-known musicians including guitarist Pablo Menendez, pianist Chucho Valdes, singer Rosa Passos and percussionist Jose Luis Quintana “Changuito”. She is also a fixture at Montreal's popular jazz clubs Upstairs and the House of Jazz, and has been featured on a number of radio and television broadcasts, including Radio Indy, The Songwriter's Network, Indie Life Radio and the Uptown Jazz Network.

In addition to recording and performing with her band, Wilson also works as a film and television composer. Some of her recent credits include the soundtrack of the animated films The Astronomer and the Cat, and Solstice, 2 educational videos for Canal Savoir with the collaboration of the University of Montreal, the re-scoring of the silent film Big Business for the Cinémathèque Québécoise, a Film Scoring Session at McGill University, supported by the Screen Composers Guild of Canada, and more recently the original music of a video game Oculus Light Bender.

The independent Music Awards (The IMA’s) for best EP in Jazz/ Funk/Fusion/Jam Category.
