In this video, Bibi Gurprit Kaur guides us through the Bani of Barah Maha, introducing the month of Jeth. The third month in the Sikh Calendar!

Through this Pauri (stanza/step), Guru Sahib tells us to build the desire to meet Vaheguru. Gurprit Kaur also looks at the differences between Naam and Ego and we find out what we lose and gain from each.

Barah Maha is a Bani composed by the fifth Sikh Guru, Guru Arjan Dev Ji. This Bani is commonly recited at the beginning of each month of the Sikh calendar, also known as Sangrand. Rehras (ਰਹਰਾਸਿ), commonly known as Rehras Sahib or Sodar Rehras,[1] is the daily evening prayer of the Sikhs and is part of Nitnem.[2] It includes hymns from Guru Granth Sahib and Dasam Granth.

It contains hymns of So Dar, So Purakh, Chopai, Anand Sahib and Mundavani,[3] among which Chopai is from Dasam Granth. This Bani is a collection of hymns of five Sikh Gurus: Guru Nanak Dev, Guru Amar Das, Guru Ram Das, Guru Arjan Dev and Guru Gobind Singh.

Vidiya Martand, Bhagat Jaswant Singh Ji (Bhagat Ji) gives a bachan on the recent COVID-19 pandemic occurring in the world. In this Bachan, Bhagat Ji explains that Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Ji has blessed us with Rehat Maraya (code of conduct) which states: eating meat, smoking substances, and drinking alcohol is strictly prohibited. Bhagat Ji says that what we consume is the reflection of our health and well-being. 

Today, we are witnessing the entire world being affected by COVID-19. To prevent this disease from spreading, all of us should refrain from eating pleasurable foods. They also say that diseases spread from falsehood such as lying, gambling, and surrounding yourself with bad company. Further, they say that we should not use Facebook to look at the beauty of others or watch unrighteous content. We should refrain from listening and dancing to songs as Gurbani Ji says: 
ਮੇਰੇ ਮੋਹਨ ਸ੍ਰਵਨੀ ਇਹ ਨ ਸੁਨਾਏ ॥ 
O my fascinating Lord, let me not listen to the faithless cynic, 
ਸਾਕਤ ਗੀਤ ਨਾਦ ਧੁਨਿ ਗਾਵਤ ਬੋਲਤ ਬੋਲ ਅਜਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Singing his songs and tunes, and chanting his useless words. ||1||Pause||. 

Instead, chant the name of the 10 Gurus, recite and help others recite Vaheguru Mantar, as Gurbani Ji says: 
ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਰੂਪ ॥੮॥੧॥ 
Guru Nanak Dayv is the Embodiment of the Lord of the Universe. ||8||1||
