Eclecticism was first reported to have been practiced by a group of ancient Greek and Roman philosophers who attached themselves to no real system, but selected from existing philosophical beliefs those doctrines that seemed most reasonable to them. Out of this collected material they constructed their new system of philosophy.  The term eclecticism comes from the Greek ἐκλεκτικός (eklektikos), literally "choosing the best".  Colloquy is defined as a gathering for discussion.  

The music of "Eklektikos" brings together the instruments and rhythms of many diverse cultures to create a unique world music.

When I was in 10th grade I asked my Belgian Spanish Teacher (Ms. Van Stichel) why the Spanish word “esperar” was used for both waiting and hoping. Maybe a sophomoric question (excuse the pun), but her answer has stuck with me through the years. She said “to wait is to hope”, and how right she was.

A long time ago, we created this song in collaboration with our friend Reverence. It was originally released on Bandcamp as part of Doc Torthis' album, Sounds For Sore Ears Vol. 1, the proceeds of which were meant to help him offset the costs of running his independent radio station, Dólfinngr Radio. Dólfinngr Radio is now gone, but the song lived on, thanks mostly to Eddie Shook kindly playing it on his biweekly show, Anything Goes. It's been through several revisions over the years, and we thought it might finally be time to put a version of it up on Soundcloud. So we took a couple takes, and started trying to teach ourselves some of the finer points of using a (somewhat?) legitimate DAW. 

Needless to say, today we discovered reverb. Whoa.
