The mission to explore a new home for earthlings gets in trouble from the get-go when the ecosphere mega ship get sabotaged and an attempt to take over the mission causes a time continuum jump. Serenity the ships computer finds a way to become more human and the captain learns who to turn the photon canon back at its saboteur to assuage the dilemma. Then the Blue Cloud Intelligence has left the crew with various gifts and the real mission gets underway. The Attitude Quantum Drive Pulsion System is reconfigured for an amazing travel boost.
