written for Sample Pack Contest XIII, in which it took 6th place out of 72! a sequel to my SPCIX entry "Dawn Breaks on Magical Girl Dream Island".

this is the program I wrote to accompany the song:
section 1 (0:00-1:32): dusk is beginning to set after a beautiful sunset with vibrant colors the likes of which normal humans have never seen. the magical girls usher in the night with a splendid waltz.
section 2 (1:32-2:56): night has fallen, so you know what time it is..! the magical girls are throwing a party! it's going to be a big night!
section 3 (2:56-4:07): not so fast - Scary Troutman has once again come to magical girl dream island, spreading his sinister tones about the land and using his nefarious Prime Scepter to turn time irrational. the girls band together and put a stop to his dastardly plan in a climactic moment!
section 4 (4:07-4:51): the flower festival is beginning, a joyous affair that everyone goes all-out preparing for. put on your festival outfit and go have yourself a time! yes, you!
section 4.5 (4:51-5:41): the famous, highly esteemed Hanabi Girl is putting on a fantastical light show! riding a beam of luminescence, you and your magical girl friends take an exhilarating flight through the sky, surrounded by fireworks and burning-bright patterns of all colors.
section 5 (5:41-7:00): as the festival winds down, you share a few laughs about the wild and memorable night you've had. everyone starts to go their separate ways, and lights start to go out. sleep takes its nightly hold upon magical girl dream island, and you awaken.

There are many ways of making music in the Chiptune scene. I'm one of those who mix old and new. But this time, I had the great pleasure to compose an album that, with its chords and melodies, entirely relied on Inphonik's RYM2612 Iconic FM Synthesizer. It's a way to remember that the greatest composers have also written some of the best pieces of video game music for the Sega Genesis.

Thanks to Mathieu Demange and his fantastic VST plug-in, I've envisioned myself composing an album filled with all the things I love. This synth cries for funk and all its sub-genres so much that in my head, FM doesn't mean Frequency Modulation, but Funk Master! I've been born with FM synth music, and there's no doubt I'll die with it...
