It’s time for some no nonsense drum & bass on MTA Records, courtesy of Mob Tactics with ‘The Answer’ EP. The duo seem to be a name on people’s lips more and more of late. With ADE looming on the horizon, it only seemed apt for Ram to yet again provide the perfect drum and bass entrée for Europe’s premium dance event. Set to bring another stellar line up from their roster, this compilation packed full of exclusives helps to epitomise the imprint’s legacy within dance music. Including brand new cuts, demonstrating the Ram’s longevity, this album plays homage to two decades of output. 

Leading you deeper into the dark side of 2015, this year’s Ramsterdam compilation not only pedestals the artists who’ve made such a titanic impact throughout the last ten months, but also the emerging talent from sister label Program and Ram’s newest signees. Whether it’s the old school, growling riddim from Aggressor Bunx, or Calyx & TeeBee’s tell-tale, trembling bassline, each track gives the album a unique vantage point.

Featuring on the collosal track listing is Delta Heavy; an exclusive which relays their elevating, pumping composition, it’s a dancefloor banger sure to detonate any crowd. And Frankee also makes a welcomed return, following the release of his anticipated single ‘Downtown’. ‘Raptor’ is unforgiving, snapped up by different animalistic samples and stridently aggressive – pedestalling Frankee’s unforgiving production standards.

On a totally different vibe, Freek is back with ‘Born Different’, a clanking yet powerful number, one which gears up into LFO-lead chaos with snapping percussion between each break. Brand new music from production outfits Teddy Killerz and Mind Vortex also make a very valuable addition, proving their unbridled talent, with merciless yet complex records that are fierce and gagging to be let loose on Amsterdam’s clubs. 
 
Two of this year’s most resounding tracks from the Ram camp, Bensley’s ‘Aftermath’ and Gerra & Stone’s ‘L.I.E.S.’ have also received revamps, providing two anticipated VIPs already igniting sets worldwide. Loadstar also deliver the goods; brand new heavy-hitter ‘Dune’ demonstrates exactly why they’ve become such revered names across the genre.

So, here’s to another Amsterdam Dance Event. One with a soundtrack provided by one of the most enduring labels, and stellar rosters, that dance music has played host to. And with Ram also holding a night this October, from first listen onwards prepare to be immerse yourself in Ram’s vast musical environment.

For nearly a decade, Tantrum Desire has been a headline feature of Technique Recordings' roster. That's a big thing to achieve, and an even bigger thing to maintain.. The combination of earth-scorching deejay sets across the globe, a constant stream of rave-wrecking productions, and a forensic attention to musicality and production levels have made TD an unstoppable force. Now, they're back with a four-track EP to show that there's a lot more left in the tank, and this is our first taste of what it has to offer.

From the first symphonic, reverberant notes of “Grimm”, it's clear that Tantrum Desire isn't playing around. As classical orchestration blends with synthetic melodies, we're placed in a three-sixty panoramic landscape, with tension and anticipation turned up to maximum. This isn't just an exercise in production mastery, it's also a demonstration of musical arrangement which leaves us in no doubt we're witnessing expertise in action.

And then there's that bassline. The octave-switching portamento power that leads us into the drop is going to be an irresistible call to the dancefloor. Layers of percussion filter and rise until we're thrown straight into the centre of a riot. Molotov basslines hit baseball bat beats, and it's carnage. The contrast between the composition of the intro and breakdown with the pounding drive of the drops shows the yin and yang of Tantrum Desire's sound, and the two sides come together into a beast of a tune.

So, in one track, Tantrum Desire has, once again, proven capable of displaying prowess as both composer and party-hyper. This is one for producers to study and unravel, as much as it is for ravers to go crazy to. It's big, and it's only the first little slice of the EP, so better watch out.

Following Viper’s newest mystery signee Giganti, Futurebound has just signed another talented newcomer to the label, this time going by the name of Millbrook. 
Millbrook is no stranger to releasing killer music; a look into his past will provide insight how he cut his teeth writing and releasing drum and bass under previous alias Vacuum. With an impressive amount of support and airtime from the likes of Bassnectar, Noisia, DJ Hype, Camo & Krooked and Glitch Mob already under his belt, Michel Losch, aka Millbrook, is now ready to elevate his sound to the next level in a new partnership with Viper.

Making a remarkable introduction for himself, ‘The Rise’ is the first taste of the Luxembourg based producer’s rebrand. Written with the talented Vorso and featuring industry favourite Mad Hed City on vocals, ‘The Rise’ is a raw, gritty, pounding masterpiece with a drop that is guaranteed to leave jaws on the floor. A charming intro melody quickly evolves into something much more sinister, emotion, followed by pure adrenaline, pumping from Mad Hed City’s iconic voice before breaking down into something minimal, funky, and all around technically brilliant. 
The flip side of the single gives us a glimpse at Millbrook’s much more elegant side – a cinematic opening teases at his sound design ability while introducing a variety of power-packed chords for an instantly memorable tune. Delivering a different kind of funk with the drop, Millbrook has certainly proven he is a force to be reckoned with with this release.

NEMESIS RECORDINGS was formed in 2005 by none other than SILVER aka NORTH BASE who thought it would be a good place to output the love he had for jungle / drum & bass music. Starting with only tape cassettes back in early 1993, SILVER got more and more into learning about music technology and recording his own music. Buying old computers like ATARI ST, COMMODORE 64, SPECTRUM ZX & AKAI, EMU samplers, SILVER got more and more into making drum and bass and continued to push his sound through his label. 

After meeting with partner in crime SONIC at a party and talked about music all night. They formed and created ACCIDENTAL HEROES and SONIC SILVER moniker, and the rest they say is history. Having had many releases on labels such as METALHEADZ, VIRUS, V RECORDS, INFRARED, REINFORCED, SILVER thought it was about time and release the first 12 inch record on NEMESIS RECORDINGS and signed a single from XAMPLE (RAM RECORDS) & SOL and the label went on from strength to strength.
