Dossa continues his rapid ascent up the ranks with two supreme dancefloor cuts on Mainframe. The Austrian native follows up his prior summer ‘14 single on the label with considerable style – Tunnelblick’s frenetic energy backed with Vegas’ synth-led aggresion and quirky piano sample at the drop. Another barnstorming release from the talented producer.

Dorian, one of the Mainframe Recordings Soldiers, steps up in the game and celebrates his single debut with “Stresstest/Fluid Sound” on the label. 

After numerous features on compilations from different labels such as the Mainframe Soldiers Volume 3 & “The Final Chapter” – the brilliant young producer released the “Unknown EP” on New Playaz – the sister label of DJ Hype’s label Playaz. 

With this new single, Dorian delivers us two masterpieces, showing off his signature sounds which he has accomplished during the last years. 

“Stresstest”, the A-Side, is an aggressive, yet epic track. Driven by tightly snapping kicks, and being hit repeatedly by pounding subs – the young Austrian talent definitely gives us a touch of his unique style. 

However, Dorian delivers us the complete opposite with “Fluid Sound”, the B-Side of this marvellous release. A melodic & powerful track marked by a combination of chilly percussion and striking note progressions. This is the perfect record to kick off the summer!

TR Tactics is back with their signature powerful sounds and iconic neuro-sounding drum and bass. Renewing their style the well-known Austrian duo is providing us with two tracks where everything is in place.

Illuminate is a track that either makes you run and run fast or it makes you lose your mind on the dance floor, either way you can’t sit calmly when it is blasting in your ears. The clean riffs and hard-hitting drums make this track the forerunner of neu-neuro, which would be a more popular family to the old neuro sounds. Illuminate juxtaposes the traditional sound design of neuro and a more minimalist build-up that makes it flow unstoppably.

Dark Universe on the other hand –nomen est omen- is more classical in the neurofunk sense, it takes us deep into the void, the non-observable, the mysterious. The drums are massive and the track nicely incorporates some techno vibe. The lengthened notes let the listener lose total control.

I can see Milla Jovovich’s determined face going against zombies, outnumbered… Total Resident Evil vibe.

Mainframe representing Alpine Drum & Bass big time on this release. 'Connect' sees three of Austria's hottest exports joining forces, with beloved veteran duo Body & Soul on the production, Daxta MC on the vocals and Phentix on the flip side with a pumping remix.

Body & Soul have been defining the game for over a decade now, with releases on Viper, BC Presents, Breakbeat Kaos and legendary Virus Recordings, and they're still far from tired of pushing things forward. Phentix   recently propelled himself on to major players' watchlists, with releases on Critical, Cyberfunk and Citrus getting A-List support all across the scene, from DJ Hype to Noisia. Daxta MC has been hyping the crowds at large scale events such as Rampage, Let it Roll, Hospitality and Ram nights lately, let alone being Camo & Krooked's regular touring MC. 

On 'Connect', Daxta flows in a heavily laid-back, kind of distant manner, adding a nice twist to the track's lyrical theme about crowd and performers connecting to each other. Beginning with dark, lo-fi-sounding fanfares, loosely referring to 80's' classic 8-bit video games, the tune gradually shifts in key and overall sound to finally blow up as Jump-Up infected Dancefloor smasher, with tearing bass sounds propelling around ton-heavy drums, all embossed with that edgy trademark roughness Body & Soul are best known for.

The Phentix Remix even takes it a level deeper. Here again the intro is slightly reminiscent of the Eighties, though rather citing the era's cinematographic sphere by adding some John Carpenter-esque soundscapes on top.  Following a similar transition, the remix ends up as sub bass heavy roller, emitting a uniquely pumping stop-and-go Funk feel.

Can't stop the DubApe! Once a devotee to the broken beats at around 140 BPM, and enjoying prominent support from J:Kenzo, N-Type and Truth, the Austrian studio wizard has meanwhile fully dedicated himself to the techy side of Drum & Bass and is known for reconciling musical versatility with a distinct signature sound, characterized by decently sculpted soundscapes, powerhouse bass lines and crispy drums. 
Enjoy some serious rinse-out on the opening track, "Delirium", when DubApe's dystopian signature rave sound is doing proper damage as it is known and loved for. On "Why", DubApe is creating a dope atmosphere with nothing more than an enigmatic vocal sample, some squelchy bass sounds and sparsely set but still tremendously rolling beats. All minimal and stripped down to the bone, “Why” is a subtle banger for the sophisticated. 
"One Year" is coming in just as deep, sparking an ambiguous vibe of stone cold funk and industrial soul. With a wildly disassembled vocal bending itself around swaying half-time beats, its wicked shuffle will put spines to the test - true neck snapper! 
For the closing track, DubApe is teaming up with vocalist Patch Edison, who delivers both a soulfully sung Hook over catchy piano chords as well as bullet proof rap lines when the drop hits. “Unstoppable” is a deep Neurofunk infused roller, enriched with a nice pinch of anthemic pop appeal.
