Finally our podcast series is up and running and we are happy to announce that our first guest is our dear friend Pravus
For our first edition he has recorded his opening set of the last Neogen at PAL, which you all loved to hear there already.

As a rising star in the underground scene, Pravus has established himself as a force to be reckoned with the immersive atmosphere and ability to captivate audiences, with his distinctive techno sound.

Now get ready for a trippy throwback!

Shimmy Robin invites her audience to an adventure of deep hypnotic techno soundscapes. From light to darkness and vice verca, into high engaging percussive tribal sounds. Her playful and driving sets feature some extra spice with vocals at peak to create and release tension. Building up a dramaturgy with room for intense feelings determines her style.

As a Hamburg based DJ, she also organizes events as a part of the collective OSZIL and co-runs the event series blipmotif at the legendary underground Golden Pudel Club.

Next up for our NEOGEN Podcast is our friend Anaz.

Anaz is a Hamburg-based queer Dj and Techno producer. Best known for his fine intuition to catch the dance floor, Anaz has always been equally interested in listening to and experimenting with different kinds of music. When mixing records he presents his own interpretation of catchiness, mixing bouncy rhythms, driving lows and percussions - his main purpose being making the floor dance. His music is characterized by a sound, that can be deep and trippy on the one side, or simply banging and pushing on the other.

Those who like to stray into unknown areas of the cosmos and are not afraid of the occasional squall should embark on Esshar's hypnospheric journey. The sets played describe a spectrum full of technoid soundscapes: dark synthesizers, twisted atmospheres, ecstatic moments, broken beats and driving rhythms - subtle and energetic at the same time.
Esshar has been part of the club and music scene for 10 years now and has been a resident DJ at Südpol Hamburg since 2019. Together with the Hamburg collective Kosmos&Krawall, Esshar organizes parties, DJ workshops and regular open FLINTA* rehearsal rooms so that they can try out and network together with the aim of strengthening diversity in the long term.

Bconscious is a DJ based in Berlin and co-founder of the collective Paradis Artificiel. She delivers a tasteful hot pot of sounds, blending textures from her favorite genres. Robust kicks, percussion, claps, hypnotic patterns, and warm vocals are the main ingredients of her sets. Bconscious follows the rhythm of her dancing body, creating a dynamic roller coaster of ups and downs, all with the intention of spreading a message of love. As part of Paradis Artificiel, she hosts events and collaborates with other talented artists and collectives to create unity through the power of music.

With deep roots in the Hamburg techno scene, she began her musical journey by organizing events, among other things. Today she lives in Berlin and brings the unique sound and vibe of the city to her sets. As a newbie DJ, she has already conquered the dance floors of several Hamburg clubs. With hot vocals, bittersweet industrial and pulsating tribal sounds as well as a rousing baseline, she creates an unmistakable atmosphere that takes the crowd on a thrilling journey and makes people vibrate with her unique sound.

BAUER - NEOGEN Podcast 07

The new NEOGEN Podcast comes from our dear friend Danya.

Danya started her musical career six years ago in Greece, where she was part of the party series Entropia. In 2021, she relocated to Germany, where she now holds esteemed residencies at PAL (Hamburg) and Bunker Club (Kiel), while also being an integral member of the event series 6D.

Her evolution extends beyond the DJ booth, with a dedicated focus on refining her production skills. Her debut solo EP, Self Destructive Mechanism, made waves upon its release on Sine Space 7, paving the way for her subsequent works on labels such as Synergie, Eremit, and her latest release on Casanova Bar Records, available both on vinyl and digitally. Her tracks have earned support from prominent artists, and her DJing skills have led to performances at renowned venues like Tresor (Berlin), Rex Club (Paris), and PAL (Hamburg), to name a few.

Danya is fueled by a curiosity for innovation and a desire to push the limits of modern techno in her creations. As a DJ, she aims to provide storytelling sets that reflect her perception of this sound and what it stands for.

This months NEOGEN Podcast comes from the talented keos.

keos is a DJ and producer of various electronic genres with a focus on minimal hypnotic techno. She is a member of the Nuit Blanche collective and active in the Hamburg queer community, where she organizes various queer events. In 2022 she composed the soundtrack for the dance performance “Algorithmic Bodies” by Marcelo Doño and in 2023 the soundtrack for the dance performance “Faces” by Anngret Schultze. Both as a DJ and in her own productions, she is constantly searching and exploring new spheres of sound to create a complex and evolving journey that oscillates between deep and spherical to weird and trippy to groovy and bouncy and fast and driving. Alternating her mixing style between slow and tight transitions helps weaving these soundscapes into a intricate hypnotic garment.

Werk37 was a temporary club in a secret location in Hamburg. Running for just three weeks, the operators impressively demonstrated how much is possible in club culture with love, dedication and a bit of madness.
