They're Coming!

Demonstrating the ability to transpose one song from one mode into another with the Mode De-coder. The original song is in Db mixolydian and has been transposed to Db Aolian. Bit of a rough take, but you get the idea. Normally this is a very complicated thing to do as chords and solo notes need to be worked out with traditional music theory - but its no sweat with the Mode De-coder - just read off the chords and notes. If you're wondering, the change means that the penultimate note of the familiar refrain is down a half step from F to E and the Db chord is changed to a Db minor and the Fsharp changes to Fsharp minor - but you don't need to work any of that out - the Mode De-coder will just make it obvious! To play the original song, Slash simply detuned his guitar to Eb and played the familiar D, C and G chords. As a side-note, the Mode decoder allows you to play along with songs recorded down a half step in Eb without having to detune your guitar.

This is my remix of the Verlies Projekt's version of Fiction Factory's  80’s one-hit wonder -  ‘Feels Like Heaven’.

A piece of music I co-composed for the L'OR espresso campaign that began back in 2016. We did a full length version of it, so thought it was good for prosperity to put it online somewhere.

A complete remake of John Barry's theme to Thunderball using virtual instruments with some pointers of what's happening in the music. Sounds used: Strings - Spitfire Audio Chamber Strings & Albion Woodwind - Spitfire Audio Symphonic Woodwinds Brass - Sample modelling The Trumpet, Cinebrass Core & Pro Percussion - Spitfire Audio Joby Burgess Percussion, Symphonic Sphere Harp Piano - Yamaha U3 mic'd with two condensors Sequencer - Cubase Processing - Waves Abbey Road Vinyl, EQ and compressors on each instrument group with various settings (all subtle). Then Goodhertz Vulf Compressor on the mix bus running as a parallel compressor. Again, set softly. The gradual build up of saturation gives it a vintagey sound, but without it being obvious. It also smudges the instruments together nicely and helps the overall mix. Reverbs - used a Past to Future EMT impulse (https://gumroad.com/pasttofuturesamples#) and sent the high strings and winds to it a reasonable amount. Kept the low strings and shorts away from it because it's too boomy. Put a high pass on the reverb channel itself so that it was an airy sound. Also setup a stock hall impulse and and fed things into that to varying degrees. The sample modelling trumpets had an additional reverb on them as the samples are bone dry so require that to start with and then you can build from there.
