Lyla didn't eat for 2-3 days so we took her into our local vet asap. They determined her own blood was attacking her and her spleen was torn. They couldn't perform a blood transfusion there so my family went to Mt. Vernon's PEC (an hour or so drive north on I5). My younger brother couldn't drive down since he'd already been up for about 18 hours due to filming important Native PNW things. So my parents, sister, and I made our way to say goodbyes but at the same time not goodbyes as the transfusion process has a 1/3 chance of refusing the new body in which case we really don't have a choice... Plus she's had a bad case of the diabeetus for over a year now. This is all to say to do anything within your means to see and support Lyla when you read this. The transfusion took about four hours and we were there from 9-12. Two teachers of littles in this shot.
