While watching an interview of Fred Falke I became inspired with some of the techniques I saw him use. I tried to create some of my own parts. All original sounds  made using my Roland Juno JU-06A, and Roland Jupiter JP-08 analogue synthesizers.

Emulator

I found this video online by Synth Mania called 'Italo Disco' in which he was showcasing his Simmons Tom drums, and then he made this song using several authentic instruments from the 1980s.

I faithfully recreated every single note he played, from scratch, using my virtual software plugin instruments. I also composed all the drums from scratch, matching his original loops.

I played some notes which reminded me of the theme from X-Files. Then, I made a beat and some other parts to a vintage style.

There has been controversy on the score written by Miles Goodman for the Disco Scene in the film "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels". I emulated the score as exactly as I could for a remake of my own using as authentic means as possible.

Emotion

Composed on the chord progression by 'Geert Van Schlänger' (Alex Ball) this is an adaptation of his tutorial on "80's Porno Music" made mostly on Yamaha DX-7. I used my Roland Juno JU-06A for most these parts, and a few virtual plugins for the DX parts. It's a nice mellow groove with such a clean thin sound that it leaves huge potential for future works.

I was testing a new plugin (DSK Overture) and started putting together a nice run, which I was calling "Herald" at the time. But the track took a different form, and morphed into a more 80's synthwave thing. I found some samples I liked and built up an arrangement.

Created in the laboratory during the 1980s research experimentation of Robotics Engineers Corporation, Cybo Man is a Cybernetic Android Advanced Technical Machine System.

Started from a tutorial I found by a cool guy on Youtube who had this chord progression. I wanted to keep this sounding very simple and somewhat authentic to the era. So all the samples, drums, synth parts, and sound effects are treated in a way that would have been plausible through the gear of the day.

The song evokes strong emotional feelings, it feels like an 80's love song to me.

Still Here

Started from a 117 BPM drum loop I made on a cell phone in 2011, I kept running every track through a vocoder. After a series were set up. I eventually, laid a few parts down that aren't on vocoders - the drums, the bass, and one arpeggiator synth line. It is an unusual sound, and I just experimented within it.

Voco

Young Rebels (1989), is a low budget movie. In it there is a theme song (written and performed by Elton Ahi), that repeats throughout the film during each scene at the strip club or involving a strip tease. The loop was catchy, so I re-wrote it on top of the original. It is kind of a revision/remix.

Soft Touch

I sampled the Yamaha DX7 chords from 'Bloodsport' (1988) with Jean Claude Van Damme. They play during the love scene in the film. The vocal samples came from a movie called 'So I Married A Centerfold' (1984). I crafted a few other parts and stitched it all together. This song is a tribute to every movie in the 80's that has the "sex chords" - the moment when they play something to indicate the romance on screen.

I found a drum tutorial on youtube by Mike Barnes, and chopped up some of his drum playing to make the drum track. Then I built up some synth layers around it.
