Parallelle join forces with Nicolas Masseyeff once again for ‘Renegade’ on Crosstown Rebels, featuring a  remix from Adam Ten & Mita Gami.  

Collaborating previously on DGTL, having known each other for years, Dutch brother duo Parallelle and France’s Nicolas  Masseyeff have created a partnership within the studio that clicks. Parallelle are multi-instrumentalists, composers, producers  and Klassified Records owners with a hybrid sound that mixes up electronica, electro-jazz and underground house, while  Masseyeff is equally accomplished and draws on minimalism, jazz, new wave, Detroit and Chicago when crafting his signature  sound on the likes of Systematic Recordings and Diversions Music. Linking up again, the three talents combine for a first  outing on Crosstown Rebels with ‘Renegade’. 

Thomas of Parallelle says, “We have created a very complementary, fun and fluid creative flow when together in the studio. We  like to keep a renegade mindset and always look for a dirty groove.” And that shows across these latest creations.  

Up first is title track ‘Renegade’, a deep mid-tempo house shuffler. The drums are elegant and airy, with bright chords and a  rasping baseline. It’s a real mood builder with dramatic synth sweeps that brings a sense of class to the dance floor.  

Israeli artists Adam Ten & Mita Gami have been a creative force for the last couple of years, and their ‘High On’ EP on  Crosstown Rebels last year gained huge success, defining a new movement of psychedelic house sounds. Their remix of  ‘Renegade’ offers a slowly unfolding masterclass with moving melodies and modulated synths casting a captivating spell. 

Last of all is ‘Bandidos’, another deep and subtle track infused with rich synth work. The bright lines and deft pads are lithe  and loose over the underlapping drums, encouraging you to gaze in awe as you get lost in the mellifluous groove.

Hey fam,

I'm very excited to share this (Unofficial) Bootleg Edit of Nandu, Tripolism & Radeckt - Dope Dance.

If you haven't given the original track a spin yet, you're missing out on a sarcastic masterpiece that throws some shade at the electronic music scene.

When I first heard this track, I fell in love with the humor and the underlying message, hitting close to home with the current state of our scene. The lyrics, delivered by a soulful choir with a playful tone, cleverly poke fun at the prevailing mindset: “We didn't come here to dance; we only came for the dope.”

I've been on a quest for a dance floor where the connection with the music is tangible. Unfortunately, it feels like most gatherings are filled with folks soaring on another plane, high off their minds, detached.

It's disheartening to witness a scene where people seem more interested in being high than connecting with the music. Parties have become more about escapism than the artistry of a musical experience. Don't get me wrong; there's nothing inherently wrong with drugs. In fact, they can enhance our connection with music. But the sad truth is that the dance floors I find myself on are often missing the essence of being there for the music.

I've been in it for the music since day one. While I have nothing against the party favors, in fact, they might deepen the musical experience. it makes me sad that the core reason we hit the dance floor seems to be getting lost. That connection, that dance, that spiritual experience, that's what I signed up for.

I believe in the power of the dance floor as a safe space to allow yourself to be, to feel, and to express. I've healed my soul in dance floors, I've found meaning.

So, to sprinkle some good vibes into the scene, I decided to edit "Dope Dance" as a reminder to keep our values in focus and return to the core reasons we attend these parties. It's a call to awareness, a call to dance, to connect, to celebrate, and to reconnect with the true essence of electronic music.

I'm genuinely thrilled about how it turned out. I threw in my groove, my psychedelic twists, fresh vibes, organic textures, and a dash of ethnic influences. I can't wait for you all to vibe with it.

Here's to keeping our values intact, remembering why we fell in love with this scene, and, most importantly, to dancing our hearts out.

"Nos Crub" is another work by the Halle-based tech house export Super Flu that lands on our 30 years of Muna sampler. In typical Super Flu style, there is a harmonious composition with a synthesizer theme, subtly spiced strings and piano tracks, as well as a psychedelic-tinged vocal. Multi Culti is honoured to reissue this 1996 classic by Ghanian highlife legend Gyedu Blay Ambolley, adding amazing remixes by Red Axes and Johnny Aux, as well as an in-house edit by Dreems & Thomas Von Party.

A major force in Afro-funk since the early 1970s, Gyedu Blay Ambolley is considered the godfather of hiplife, transforming the highlife genre by adding elements of hip-hop, funk and jazz. The opportunity to reissue the amazing and influential “Simi Rapp” is one of the clear high points of the label’s trajectory thus far. 

The reissue package is bolstered by an ecstatic rework by Israeli gurus Red Axes, an early-morning anthem from master remixer Johnny Aux, and a laid-back house edit from Multi Culti Executive Shamans Dreems and Thomas Von Party.

DJ and Producer Neon Dots explores the intersection of psychedelia, house, and story telling. Shaped by curiosity, moving between timeless music and new ideas.

His sets take familiar sounds and show them through a different lens, inviting listeners to sink in and groove with the music. Weaving in samples from obscure cinema, 70s avant-garde, and soundtracks from the 90s video games he grew up with, along with fragments of wisdom from artists, scientists, and spiritual figures; the music is the meeting point of everything that has meant something for him.

Neon Dots doesn’t perform in the conventional sense, there are no exaggerated gestures or theatrical moments behind the decks, like often expected from DJs today. Instead, his attention stays with the sound, and with the dancers. His sets are immersive and story-driven, evolving with intention and subtlety.
