The game itself blew me away on how well it was done, let alone the 7 days time limit.  The song itself has a little bit of pop & electronic/synth going on.  I feel like my melodies are a bit better on this one.

Hiding The Path

I started this as a sample for a music idea for the Trix game but they ended up going for another theme I made.  Still liked this one so I finished it up.

Sys-admin

I feel like I am starting to get a good idea for certain things that are in my wheelhouse.  This is kinda my ADHD jam with a little European techno in the middle.  

I had someone reach out to make a song for their game and wanted something similar to a Starfox flight level.  They liked my Bye Bye Bye cover song and I went about trying to meld the two styles.  This is what came from that small prompt.

The Flight

I always have some kind of ethereal texture working at some point in my process and this is the latest one I made.  Reminds me of lying on a blanket as a teenager and looking at stars and only finding one of the two constellations I knew (Orion and one of the dippers, I don't know if it is the little or big one).

This one started out as a sub-track for a game that didn't come to fruition much.  I liked the main theme so I turned it into a full-length big synth song.

Daybreak

Felt like making a mellow track yesterday.  After it was finished, it felt like a moment I had years ago where I had finally let something that I had been holding onto in my entire life go finally.  It was a moment when my anxiety quieted for the first time that I could remember and I was able to slow down and settle for a time.

Scouting Mission

I made this as the big brother track to the Scouting Mission track I released a week or so ago.  If the original song was a team going on a scouting mission, this song sees that mission fail and them having to run away while everything around them burns.

Mission Failed

I made a few lighter tracks for a Jam game and ended up melding the two together for this song.  Its an ethereal mellow listen similar to something like the cinematic Orchestra (though I am not as good as they are...yet).

I used multiple atmospheric elements to overlay the keys, lead, and string lead and found a super deep bass that I loved when adding it to the middle of the song.

This was a fun one as I am testing out new production techniques and synth-wave elements to try and fill out my toolbox.

The Lasagna Cometh

This one is a bit different from the others I have put up.  The song itself combines two different ideas I created for different pitches for game songs (both rejected in favor of my "Is It Time" a few months back).  I liked how they sounded together so I expanded them and finished it up this last weekend.

For me, I had the feeling of Alan Wake / Control when making the intro and other parts of the song. I also have a tendency sometimes to just jam a song with notes and arpeggios but I wanted to try doing something with more restraint here.

Past the Tunnel's End

A song I started last week and finished last Sunday.  I tried my hand at a basic techno beat and rumble and worked up to some other elements I am trying to riff with recently: mid + hi arpeggio lead, slow bass, power synth chords.  I showed it to my son and he thought it sounded like someone was running from a monster leading the the name and theme.  Threw a quick motion video together from kaiber.ai and looped it to post on youtube/instagram.  Fun times.  Moving on to the next one.

Escape From Atlantis

A breakthrough at Project Jupiter gives humanity extended hope in the fight against the unknown calamity.

For this one, I had built a chord progression a while back that then went forgotten.  I found it as I went through my idea stack.  I have been researching layering techniques and decided to use this progression as a way to test the new techniques.  This, in combination with wanting to try out making a chillwave song, led to this result.

Breakthrough at Project Jupiter

Back from a little vacation and wanted to explore some guitar sounds/techniques.  This one felt quicker than some of the others I've posted.  I finished most of it in a day but it sat waiting for me to get back from my little road trip.

The song sounded kind of deserted-y and roadish to me like someone was hitchhiking down a lonesome road.  I ended up going with the "my crap car finally gave up and I just need to leave it to its fate" motif (something I have personal experience in).

Left Behind

This started as a group of 5 loops, all increasing in intensity, for a game made for the pirate game jam on itch.io.  

I really loved the hook when I made it and I knew I wanted to use it in something but it sat alone for a few months as just 4 bars and a basic drum track while I worked on other projects.  I felt like doing a boss battle theme and decided to finish it up when the opportunity for the game jam appeared.

Evacuation: Cascade Imminent

This is my largest production to date.  I spent a lot of time using this song to improve my mixing/mastering/layering techniques.  It was Fun.

Cora's Grand Adventuring Company

This started as a small mini-theme for my Instagram and I expanded it for a minor release.  I was working on creating a synth-wave template for Ableton and, because my brain doesn't allow me to not make something when exploring new sounds, this is what came about.  I still haven't made the template. 

I've been spending a bunch of time doing not music-related items (research, technique tutorials, etc) and it's been more difficult to focus on releases now that I am trying for social media content.  

Gotta try to find that balance.

I was playing around with an interesting deep pad I found a while back and really liked how this came out.  I recently added a piano lead and this is what came out.

This one was a pretty quick song to make, and I had fun layering the synths against one another (I'm Trying to do more of that in general).

The Breaks

Not even sure where this came from.  I ran across a bass and drum part I don't even remember making (happens a lot).  I filled in leads and atmosphere, then experimented with the backing synth at the middle/end that came about from a new plugin I got on Black Friday (Teletone Audio's Ondine).
