Dawn Truce Lo-Fi

Did a challenge from a songStuff forum and this is the result.  Took 3.5 hours from start to finish.

Trying to learn some new techniques in regard to synth and drums.

One of my first synthwave songs.  I built it in 3 hours from an internet prompt (I believe it was to write a 4-chord song).

My adaptation of the song "The Wellermen" done as a sort of dirge.

Tried for a fast and crazy 8bit song.  Just trying out a bunch of techniques I can't really do when writing a piano tune.  These are fun.  Gonna make more.

yeahhh....I guess I made a cover of Bye Bye Bye by N'Sync.

This is the 4th of 4 songs I produced for the Rhythmica LIVE! game for the PIZZAJAM on Itch.io.  The game itself was fantastic so a big shout out the the PizzaJammers cause they made that thing come to life.

Calculation - Boss Fight

Just a little chiptune song I made randomly.  Wanted to try out a chiptune using no drum/beat where the notes provide the percussion.

The Clone

This one started as a loop I made for the Calculation Game on itch.io.  I know I wanted to do something bigger with it and this was the end product of that.  Probably my favorite one so far next to Bye Bye Bye.

I made this song for a game that was initially created for the Metroidvania GameJam on itch.io.  The game itself was never finished I believe and I never heard of any more updates so I don't know the status of the project.

Sinister Garden

I started this as a sample for a music idea for the Trix game but they ended up going for another theme I made.  Still liked this one so I finished it up.

Sys-admin

I wanted to try to get this up before the holiday season is officially over.  Sometimes nice when I get to do a happier tune.

Snowed In

I made this for a game jam but I don't think the game was ever finished/released.  Still liked the dark synth chill vibe though so I finished it up.

A Galaxy Unknown

Here is another song I made for someone who ended up not continuing the game he made.  This essentially started as my take on an Overwatch-type background waiting screen and it morphed into this subtle, chill thing that I wanted to finish up.

Waiting To Begin

I feel like I am starting to get a good idea for certain things that are in my wheelhouse.  This is kinda my ADHD jam with a little European techno in the middle.  

I had someone reach out to make a song for their game and wanted something similar to a Starfox flight level.  They liked my Bye Bye Bye cover song and I went about trying to meld the two styles.  This is what came from that small prompt.

The Flight

I always have some kind of ethereal texture working at some point in my process and this is the latest one I made.  Reminds me of lying on a blanket as a teenager and looking at stars and only finding one of the two constellations I knew (Orion and one of the dippers, I don't know if it is the little or big one).

This track started as an idea pitch for a game jam but was ultimately set aside for one in a different direction.  I ended up liking it and want to finish it up.

The song itself reminds me of old games like "A Boy and his Blob" or something like that where a boy makes a friend and they go on a fun adventure.

I decided to keep this one a little more simple as I liked the four individual elements and how they sounded together.

This one started out as a sub-track for a game that didn't come to fruition much.  I liked the main theme so I turned it into a full-length big synth song.

Although the designer didn't have enough time, I imagined a jet pilot preparing for a big mission by just relaxing on his jet with a cup of coffee just taking everything in.

Daybreak

I had a request from a Jam to basically take my other song the Flight and give it a Christmas upgrade for a boss fight where you fight an evil Santa Claus as a flame-throwing Nutcracker.

They really liked the end product.

Bad Santa

Felt like making a mellow track yesterday.  After it was finished, it felt like a moment I had years ago where I had finally let something that I had been holding onto in my entire life go finally.  It was a moment when my anxiety quieted for the first time that I could remember and I was able to slow down and settle for a time.

I made a couple songs for some projects in the Brackey's GameJam on itch.io and this one specifically for a death/horror style game.

It's simple but I liked how the two elements sounded together so I finished it up.

I made this as the big brother track to the Scouting Mission track I released a week or so ago.  If the original song was a team going on a scouting mission, this song sees that mission fail and them having to run away while everything around them burns.

Mission Failed

I made a few lighter tracks for a Jam game and ended up melding the two together for this song.  Its an ethereal mellow listen similar to something like the cinematic Orchestra (though I am not as good as they are...yet).

I used multiple atmospheric elements to overlay the keys, lead, and string lead and found a super deep bass that I loved when adding it to the middle of the song.

This was a fun one as I am testing out new production techniques and synth-wave elements to try and fill out my toolbox.

This one started as an idea for just the piano and synth arpeggios at the beginning.  I pitched it for a gamejam game but the girls wanted something else.  I ended up liking the theme and tried expanding it with a number of panning orchestral atmospheres and orchestral drums (haven't yet used them until now).  

This one also has three leads/arpeggios that play off each other so I am interested to know how those sound to others.

This one is a bit different from the others I have put up.  The song itself combines two different ideas I created for different pitches for game songs (both rejected in favor of my "Is It Time" a few months back).  I liked how they sounded together so I expanded them and finished it up this last weekend.

For me, I had the feeling of Alan Wake / Control when making the intro and other parts of the song. I also have a tendency sometimes to just jam a song with notes and arpeggios but I wanted to try doing something with more restraint here.
