They Call Me Seraph

CADENCE is a massive man made island off of the east coast of the United States, lying roughly 300 miles east of New York state.  It is an independent city-state founded by Cadence Technologies, a mega corporation formed by the merger of Japan’s Akiyama Corporation and the United States’s BEDA Medical Technologies and Robotics.  The merger in 2152 led to unprecedented advances in medical science and engineering.  

Decades of research and advancements lead the world renowned Cadence Technologies to announce their plan to create a massive man made island.  It would soon become the scientific center of the world and an unheard of innovation in itself.  Serving as both an answer to the world’s growing population problems and pressing science issues, Cadence was hailed by many as an unparalleled achievement.  

After many years of formalities the city state was officially recognized by the UN as its own independent government.  The city’s population exploded and tourism was huge with Cadence’s state of the art environments ranging from urban sprawls to man made nature features.

Cadence was not without criticism however.  It was no secret that Cadence also developed advanced military technology sold to governments around the world and used by its own Defense Organization.  This led to several incidents involving U.N. Weapons Inspectors visiting facilities on the island.  Ultimately Cadence would prove its dedication to protecting and aiding mankind well into the future. 

Cadence remains the most technologically advanced government in the world to this day. It continues to lead in medical science, robotics, artificial intelligence, and military technology development.
