I was inspired by Crystal Castles' bass synth in Kerosene and decided to see what I could do with it. Cheese Machine seemed to be the best fit for imitation, Once I did that, I added layered a saturation and tube distortion on top of it and the rubbery-distorted-bass was what came out. For the begining synth I layered sampled my friend singing while she was sick and had no voice with a square wave and sine wave. The drums are done with drumatic and heavily compressed. I also experimented with the technique of heavily EQing the instruments so that they don't interact with each other and have a chance to "breathe." I'm not sure that I like this technique, I think that instruments could be layered on top of each other to support the lead instead of draw attention to itself. I do understand it though and I like some of the music that comes out of this technique
