Freshney - In Pieces [Bassrush Premiere]

You decide if it feels relevant to you – following up his latest “System Irrelevant” A/V set (premiered on UKF September 15th), Hamburg based artist Phace is releasing a same-titled 6- track mini album. The music featured very much covers both his mood and vibe of recent times and is his deepest, most melancholic and atmospheric work to date.

Its first single, “Altona” (named by his neighbourhood) will be released October 20th, followed by a second single, “Useless”, out November 10th.

Could This Be has always been one of my favorites from Noisia. It came out around the time I was studying production and it inspired my love for drum production immensely as they have continued to do for many years. I'd written the original version of this track before I was asked to remix it and I've been through more versions than I can count as it morphed into the remix. I wanted to keep the main aesthetic and structure of the original with a completely re-synthesized idea and of course, lots of drums!! It's been a real honor to work with one of my favorite acts of all time, so thank you guys for the opportunity! And everyone else, I hope you enjoy it.

Here's the second single from the PUER LP forthcoming on Souped Up Records. 

Current Value teams up with MC Coppa's on Remorse, an intense drum and bass workout with all the power of neurofunk, the playfulness of jump up but with an added musical depth and intensity that few other artists can come close to. Coppa's vocal provides a distinctive hook and an extra layer of detail that make this one of the standout tracks of the album.

This forms part of a double album project with Souped Up and Methlab teaming up to show two distinctive sides of Current Value's production. Look out for Chain Walk which is the corresponding single from the SENEX EP on Methlab Recordings.
