The concept of "The Road Back" is rooted in ‘The Hero's Journey’, the larger narrative woven throughout the release. The original is an ambient/electronica track using various layers and soundscapes.

My intention with the remix EP was to source three extremely talented artists I admire—three people with truly distinct identities. I wanted each to interpret the track however they wanted, with no guidelines or rules. The result is three extraordinary pieces that capture their individual aesthetics while impressively channeling the original's qualities.

This further motivates my label's objective: to be a platform for experimentation and expression, all while being a bit leftfield.

Carlo is back with his brand of extra smooth Deep House on his Neovinyl imprint later this month. For the Where The Wild Beats Are EP he's brought a load of mates along in the form of Garrett David, co-label owner Baldo and long time contributor Black Loops. 
His effort for this VA is a super chill head nodder with some choice vocal samples and swinging percussion to set the tone for a great night on the floor.

Primarily a digital label, Neovinyl is back on the scene with a V/A sampler on 12″ black vinyl. The release features cuts from label co-bosses Baldo and Carlo, as well as regulars Black Loops and Chicago producer Garrett David.  Where The Wild Beats Are marks the third entry in the imprint’s limited series, and maintains the polished, club-ready deep house sound of the main run.

Our premiere comes in the B2 slot of the EP, via Baldo’s “Aquatic Funk”. It’s a brooding club cut built on a big synth bassline and a tasty 909 kit. Stealthy pads and chords come in nicely to accent the recipe. All in all, it’s a track structured for late night affairs; pulsating with darker energy.
