Taking inspiration from Breaks, UK Garage, Electro and beyond, Nasty King Kurl combines this myriad of influences with a skill for crafting character-filled yet devastatingly effective dancefloor cuts, striking a careful balance between club functionality and enjoyable at-home listening. 
A-side opener ‘All I Want’ sees chopped breaks and vocals permeating monstrous low end, leading into title cut ‘Weak Lips’, which lays soft Rhodes chords under G-funk whistles and crunchy percussion. On the flip, ‘Low Carb Bitches’ brings cheeky hip hop vocals under squelching bass and freestyle-esque scratches and chops, before closing track ‘Make Tech House Great Again’ carries warped samples, dense percussion and swirling FX to round out the release.

In contrast to first the Viiaan productions where sound design, ambient, and field recordings are the main theme, Fusagasuga encompasses a concept behind the bases, melodies, samples, and vocals that through the artist subjectivity correspond to subgenres that influence her within underground electronic music in order to express her understanding of what is techno, dance hall, reggaeton, and the dance floor. 

This first album mastered by Dj Swisha is intended to question the listener and deconstruct ideas of what a particular genre is or isn’t. 

Luis Antonio Tovar a.k.a. Lats, an architect and visual artist focused on 3D digital art, is in charge of the album cover art with collaboration from the tattoo artist Alberto Monroy alias Pandemic Tattoo. Full design will be release within the album at the end of February 2022

Premiering next on Nerang Recordings is Adrenaline Replenishment by WakeUpNeo. The EP features four tracks that feature glitchy cosmic highs and bass rumbling lows.

Nørus, the solo project of music producer Felipe Bortoloti, is about to release his new EP, ‘Surrounding Sequences’. 

His new release could be described as a blend of IDM, Braindance, Breakbeat and Techno. The EP features three original tracks and a remix, in which Vitor Munhoz, Nørus’s partner at Somnum Studio, creates a version of ‘Brainsuckers’. Influenced by early acid techno and electro and armed with a love for stripped back house, 6 months ago I started learning in a friend's studio and under his guidance we began making tracks together. Since then, I've been producing with my own equipment using analogue and digital gear.
Currently, producing raw and lo-fi house under the alias SAFEWORD with another project in the pipelines offering more of a techno feel, 2017 will see my first live project bringing together a lengthy blend of acidic techno, electro and hypnotic disco.

Nerang Recordings is excited to make its' return with a coveted 6-track E.P. by Low Tape. Spanning from blistering Detroit-tinged electro to italo-driven melodics, the diversity in ‘Reality Zone' E.P. makes for a versatile tool that can be suitable for both the sweaty dancefloors and the early evening build-ups. This Russian-based producer, who has released on X-Kalay and Further Electronix, raises the bar once again, with an already strong catalog of thoughtfully, mood-induced electro and house. Right off the gate, with opener “Funky Detune,” there’s a weaving of both metallic and acidic sequences that bend at the seams as an electro rhythm drives the heat. With other bangers across these six tracks, like “Dangerous Groove” and “East Dancer,” there’s a clear force in Low Tape’s ability to create smooth soundscapes with serious grit.

NRNG009 Soela - Downfall

Following previous releases on Shall Not Fade and KOMPAKT, Soela will release her debut on Australia-via-Berlin imprint Nerang Recordings with the ‘Downfall’ EP.

The EP showcases the studio and creative mastery of the Russia-born and Berlin-based artist, who has years of experience as a pianist and vocalist under her belt.

Spanning five tracks, Downfall EP sees Soela team up with Berlin-based DJ and producer Module One, and Nerang head honcho Whipr Snipr. The release also features a remix from Ukrainian artist, Saturated Color.

The title track is deep house at its finest, showcasing otherworldly atmospheres, serene chords and Soela’s blissful piano, which has been a staple throughout her productions. Up next, ‘Cabinet’ featuring Module One features echoing, magical synths and thumping percussion working in perfect harmony. 

On the flip side, ‘Golden Hour’ is the quintessential afterhours track that would be at home at daytime raves and summer festivals alike. 

The Saturated Colour remix gives the title track a darker twist, adding an acid house synthline that’s in perfect synch with the track’s dreamy atmospheres and enchanting beats.

Wrapping things up, ‘Hide From Love’ sees Soela team up with Whipr Snipr to deliver a piano meets acid house tune that beckons us to get down on the dancefloor and dance with our eyes closed.

The return of our VA series is marked with the new chapter ‘Freaky Friends Volume 1’ featuring the likes of P.Leone,
Nasty King Kurl, Sentient State, Ole Mic Odd, Dj Swagger, and Main Phase.

The Berlin-based label has been going strong since its founder - Australian DJ and producer Dj Whipr
Snipr - launched it in 2016, with recent genre-spanning releases traversing acid, house, breaks, and
electro from artists such as DJ Bowlcut, Low Tape, Soela, Subjoi, Interplanetary Criminal, J.Albert, DJ
Safeword, Anthony Fade, and many more. Nerang now invites six quality artists for its most ambitious
release yet to inaugurate the imprint’s ‘Freaky Friends’ series.
E-Missions founder and Rekids regular P.Leone leads the way with a thudding breaks number called
‘Parting Currents’. A rumbling bassline is later joined by lush pads and a hammering piano melody
destined to rocket listeners into new heights. Following appearances on 777 Recordings and Low
Income Squad, Nasty King Kurl is next with a raw sounding ‘Lawless’ - a syncopated cut that blends

DJ Swagger returns to Nerang Recordings with ‘Bass Hysteria’ this January.
Following releases on E-Beamz, Natural Sciences, and Who’s Susan, the German-based DJ Swagger
returns to Nerang after appearing on the label’s ‘Freaky Friends Volume 1’ compilation earlier this year,
bringing yet another bout of high quality, high energy output to the table.
Merging influences from Dance Mania through to UK Garage, ‘Bass Hysteria’ sees the DJ Swagger at
the top of his game. ‘Atomic Fear’ galvanizes the pure energy of early DJ Funk, with air raid sirens and
glitched out hi-hats punctuated throughout, while ‘Drybones’ nods towards early dubstep and UK
flavours, with gurgling basslines and skippy drums bubbling throughout as occasional glimmers of
gorgeous synth work allow the listener to come up for air.
‘Trail of Destruction’ encapsulates golden age electro, with effected vocals, crisp percussion, and gritty
basslines coming together for a late night groover. ‘Noseblunt’ is a fast-paced whirlwind, aimed for
fog-filled dance floors, perfectly wrapping up the eleventh release on a label pushing diverse sounds
from artists around the world.
