Maybe not the best recording from Detached Ignorance (rather the worst) but I love this song for it's simplicity and it's message. The lyrics is about a gamer who tries to run away from reality in different games all the time - as many of "us" do. I will have to do a remake of this song some day, but this original have it's merit still.

Temporarity

I wrote this song in the middle of the night at work sitting with a guitar that had some strings missing. I started to reminisce how I, in my youth, one time walked into my local grocery store with my electric guitar just to buy some drinks before rehearsal and it caused some kind of reaction that I wasn't prepared for. It took me a lot of years to realize that I could spark some kind of interest in another human being - sadly. So, a bitter sweet pop rock song it is.

I made this song from an old guitar-idea recorded on my dictaphone, maybe from 2011-2012. I played around with that inside of Logic one night in 2021-2022 (so approximately 10 years later) and recorded the vocals. I took it home and crafted at it some more. This song felt more like a metal piece needed to go through different workstations then one of my usual song projects. The different sections was so definite but the song itself was so fluent and alive, it's pretty cool that I managed to keep the original guitar idea alive and still added what I wanted in the manner that I did.

Something Real

This is the eight song in the first album about Touli Chate. A Album where every song corresponds to one chapter of a book that I wrote a long time ago. The best thing about making songs of these chapters was that I could sing out with emotions that I wanted the different characters to have rather then sing about my own life, for once. This song is about how Chates older brother is bitter about them going separate ways in life.

Despite the obvious lyrical error (-who +that) and the abrupt end to a progressive escalation in the mix, I really like what happened here. The message is clear enough with space for interpretation and there is dynamics and life in the song just as I wanted. I love how I managed to sync the cover to the content also :)

Memory Dismemberment

I made the original of this song in 1999 as a experiment with new samples. It was also a whole new genre for me. I liked the experience back then and made a lot more tracks just like it after getting a boost from some nice feedback. This time, over 20 years later, I wanted to play around with some totally new sample libraries and music utilities again - perfect for making remixes of my old songs. What song would be fit better then Cement feeling? None.

This was made from recordings inside cs:go lobbys. It's always a joy playing with these two, especially when Tjobre is on his party mode. Most of the time I forget to press record or there are some other disturbing sound that ruin the samples for a potential song, but when I finally got enough stuff I had to put it out here. To bad that the summer was gone and the map was already out of the map pool and cs2 was almost out when the song came :P ohh well, maybe the map comes again! The track will live forever though! enjoy!

Cachelito

A EDM remix on a rock song, sang together with my daughter. The song is originally about a classmate I had in high school who tried to look much more sure about life then he really was when you came up close (classic high school kid I know, I know)... It kind of gave the song a new level when my daughter sang it with me as she was coming that age.
