The time has finally come. After shooting us through the universe and back, Frank Sonic swings in again on ZEHN Records. This time in collaboration with his long trusted co-pilot Gabriel Di Pasqua.

Warming up the engines slowly for this expedition is „Walking into the Sun" which arrives in collaboration with Kirean Fowkes and his ethereally voice a meditative dive through the frequencies of life. Channels of pure flow open, as low-key synthesizer lines, cast a spell on our mind. Light arpeggios pass through our ear canals. It's time to close our eyes for a while.

A wave of darkness encloses you like an endless pulsating blanket made from material energy itself. Open your eyes - NOW! Time to realize: You are now part of this wave. Roaring basses fill up the infinite space around you. Distant vocals join. Ecstatic melodies combine with powerful drums. Just be. There's nothing to fear. Label boss Schtu returns to Casomat with 'The Magician EP', a four-track release showcasing a slightly more nuanced side to his production style - one which he has previously only flirted with. Broken beats, stripped-back basslines, and even a track where, in his own words, "nothing much happens". For the Berlin-based producer and DJ, it’s a step into largely uncharted territory. Still, even though the EP demonstrates diversity in terms of mood and aesthetic, it still retains the melodic sensibilities and sharp arrangements that have become synonymous with Schtu's productions.

So, what to expect? Well, if each of the tracks had to have their own defining role in a kind of Spice Girls-esque arrangement, we'd probably assign them the following; LSD - the clubby one; The Magician - the deep one; Serendipity - the driving one; and Dopamine - the not-four-to-the-floor one.
