Nerm Mix January 2010 - Something Wicked This Way Comes

I just found a box of old mix tapes I made in 1997-99 and thought I'd share this. It sounds quite bad because it's tape rip but I thought someone might enjoy it. 

Mixed in 1998 on vinyl using a set of belt drive Gemini decks and a broken Numark mixer. Recorded into a mic input of a battered old tape deck. Ahh, the good old days!

I recorded this from cassette straight into my computer with no outboard, editing or eq to keep it as raw as the original - mistakes and all!

I was lucky enough to be asked to open for Saul Williams at the British Library. It was a different kind of set. There's a few old gems and loads of back to back Om Unit and Spectrasoul. Sorry it’s not more inventive.

February 2012 Mix :: The BEast Unleashed

D-Code and I remixed this in a day. The last shot of the movie Everywhere and Nowhere used the original version - which really didn't fit the rest of the music I'd put in the film.  Not too shabby.

My remix of D-Code's "Outlaw" I wrote the words for the original and thought that I'd destroy them here. This track is what the "Mask" characters in the video have going on in their head.

D-Code feat Nerm - Outlaw (Nerm's Shhh Don't Tell Anybody Remix)

Obviously inspired by Craig Armstrong - this was written in 2005 at a real low point. It was kind of like sinking to the bottom of a pool. 

But then, when you hit the bottom you can use it to push off and soar to the surface. So there's a bit of hope in there too.

It ended up as the last track on our album.
