Vibers - Get Ready For More

The last time Daze came on tour to Europe, playing some shows with myself and the other Lobsters, we ended up playing a much smaller bunch of Lobster showcases, but the ones we did play were incredibly special (and slightly stressful) and took us to clubs that we'd maybe not been quite as aware of, as well as introducing us to some immensely inspiring scenes and DJs.

One club and set in particular that stood out from that tour was playing Hamburg for the first time at the excellent PAL club, and witnessing a tour de force set in the grinding acid, electro and techno from their resident Bobbie*.

We'd already been hanging out a bit prior to the show at dinner, having a good laugh and a nice warm up conversation to get into the night, but that opening set was a blinding example of how to work a room up and really set the stage for the following artists. Hence I felt my subsequent set was fairly terrible in comparison! But being that inspired by DJing is what allows us to reflect on our own methodology and vision when playing in different spaces and at different times.

As well as being a resident at PAL, Bobbie* is the host of her event series' Knock Knock and Highly Recommended, as well as being a close associate of the Thier crew and Team Tissue (Tissue magazine). As a DJ she has a keen ear for blending vinyl and a ferocious ability to squeeze extra energy out of already relentless tracks, whether it be run-away electro, low slung machine funk, searing acid or ricochet techno. Everything is carved into a position of maximum effect.

I asked Bobbie to contribute a one hour mix for Lobster to try and convey this energy and style, so here it is.. One hour of absolute monster electronics!
