Since coming up as a DJ in the late nineties, The British-Chinese producer and DJ has founded an impressive career on his love for Balearic music. His ability to re-imagine the genre and advance its warm ethos into new sounds has made him a central presence on
the Balearic scene, figuring appropriately as Café Del Mar’s only inhouse resident DJ.

As a producer and artist, Fan proceeds from the same eclectic and imaginative spirit that earned his sets their special reputation. Through dubby downtempo, sweeping ambient and spectral trip-hop beats, Fan sustains a distinctive Balearic thread—a melodic and textural fullness that typifies his musical identity.

Frecuencia comprises nine tracks sketched out by Fan in his Ibiza home, on tour, in airports and hotels, and then finalized in the Music For Dreams studio in Copenhagen. The tracks range from the thrumming nocturnal air of ‘Under The Moon’ to the blissed
 out expanse of ‘Mariwo’ to the swirling gothic-electro of the title track. The album features collaborations and vocalists on several tracks, including Vicky Kroon, George Solar and vocal trio Iyami Aje who sing in both Spanish and Bantú.

Frecuencia follows Ken Fan’s debut LP of last year, Momentum of Love (Music For Dreams).

Younisono - Venus Part||

Holy Oker is the solo project of musician Greg Rhodes, a drummer from Vancouver Canada who now calls Los Angeles home. Greg sought to strip away the instrument that had always been his identity in order to find a new, yet to be known sound. 

This EP was born out of a musician without his safety net searching for a voice without the comfort of familiarity. The result is stripped back, bare, and without anything fancy to hide behind. These simple but powerful songs expose their raw message through minimal production and earnest lyrics. Holy Oker explores themes of solitude, letting go and forgiveness while striking to find a balance and harmony between one’s old self and the always emerging new. It is the result of an artist peeling back his layers and moving beyond his comfort zone in order to break new ground.

Da ist es also nun endlich. Das lang versprochene Album des Berliner Producers Brascon, dem multitalentierten Mitbegründer von Peace Peter und DAS MAER wird am 22. Mai auf allen digitalen Plattformen erscheinen. Und das Warten hat sich gelohnt: Denn das knapp betitelte Album „Vän“ ist das experimentierfreudigste, persönlichste und ambitionierteste Projekt, dem sich der Deep-House Maestro in seiner bisherigen Karriere gewidmet hat. Von den unzähligen in der freien Wildbahn zusammengesammelten Samples bis hin zu den sorgfältig kuratierten und inszenierten Features strotzt das Album nur so vor Liebesbeweisen an Klang, Musik, die Natur und vor allem an all die Menschen, die in den letzte Jahren Teil Brascons musikalischer Reise waren. „Vän“ ist das schwedische Wort für Freund, womit schon der Titel verspricht, was die Musik später einzuhalten vermag: Dass Brascon hier eine Hommage an all die Kreativen Köpfe seines Bekanntenkreises aussprechen möchte, die ihn auf diesem Album musikalisch begleiten. Doch das persönlichste an diesem Projekt ist und bleibt der Sound, der die vielen Features zusammenhält und sie in klangliche Einheit bringt. Brascon findet hier mehr denn je zu sich und liefert eine Scheibe, die den Hörenden das gleiche verspricht.
