Deffie - Exclusive Mix - Beat Lab Radio 89

One of the game's best new names, Australian producer ZEKE BEATS blends hip-hop and grime influences with his signature analogue basslines for a distinct sound that's dirty, crunchy and always futuristic. He broke through with the Meltdown EP on Terrorrhythm in 2016 (which premiered on NHQ), and since then, he's shared music across many top-respected labels like Deadbeats, Mad Decent and Buygore, where he released his recent Devastate EP. This year, he's been keeping the bass revolution kicking and gearing up for a hectic tour schedule which brings him out to California for Lightning in a Bottle 2018, for which he's prepared this mix.

This week we have an absolutely epic, brain-melting dubstep MiniMix coming your way courtesy of master sound designer Kompany. The producer, Icon Collective alum turned touring DJ, has a grip of unreleased material thrown into this mix as well as some visceral new classics dominating the bass space. We do not recommend listening to this mix while operating heavy machinery; Kompany himself says it's most suited for a game of Fortnite with friends, but we would also recommend it for working out or any kind of generalized ass-kicking.

From releasing on mau5trap and Casablanca Records to receiving serious praise from Giorgio Moroder and being selected for Mixmag's Impact series, LA resident and dance music newcomer @Rinzen is off to quite the start. Think dark techno, tribal percussions, and enough layers to make even the most skilled bakers jealous. Rinzen's starkly impressive four-on-the-floor productions have been well-received in the dance, techno, and house communities. When it comes to house music, Motez is quite the connoisseur. The Baghdad-born, Adelaide-based producer has made his way through an impressive career with affiliations such as Sweat It Out and creating official remixes for artists including Sam Smith and Ellie Goulding.
